  • Omni's video got me thinking, if there's another smash game in the future and it doesn't feature every character that's ever been in a smash game ever, will ppl throw hissy fits like they're doing now for Pokemon S&S?
If a high and a mid clash on the same frame and they do the same dmg, which one will win the trade?

I thought so, it's high beats mid, mid beats low, low beats high right?

and dmg only matters when both strikes are the same level?

Test two Diego. Have the recording Diego do 6P+K (which is +2 on block). Have the other Diego do a jab (10F) and have the Diego who did 6P+K do 6P (i12 becomes i10). The mid wins every time. Where did FoN get the info of high beating a mid regardless of damage if both traded at the same speed?

If the high and mid were the same damage, the high would win. If the high was weaker while same speed as mid, the mid wins.

Ah, my bad. I could swear that highs always beat out mids if they connect on the same frame back in DOA5 (along with Mids beat Lows and Lows beat Highs, etc.). Have had a lot of instances in past gameplay too where jabs or high kicks would blow up mids pretty easily, so I tend to play based on Highs > Mids > Lows > Highs.
if a character is i9/i11 with hella strings and options, their throw game should be whack

Speed is not a major issue in DOA per say, but it also eliminates certain definition in regards to "neutral" in CQC and opening people up realistically.

And Rikuto also mentioned that TN's stubbornness with regards to tweaking certain things such as "throw breaks" (or tweaking the aforementioned R1F movement) is likely part of the reason why DOA games will never move forward enough as "competitive fighting games" and thus will sell less than its competitors. IMHO, the more that DOA tries to differentiate itself from other FG's, the worse it is for itself.

    Quite the opposite, actually.
Samsho is unbalanced as hell, and I love it, takes me back to the days when developers didn't give a dam about making a balanced roster and just made dope fighting games with cool mechanics
That Kotal Khan showing at CEO is proof why underplayed mid tiers will always be scarier than overexposed high tiers in tournament

*Remembers SF5 season 1 where 40% of the game's competitive playerbase were playing Chun Li in tournaments, yet most of the times only one or two were seen in top 8's.* Yeah, because players lab the top tiers out far more than the mid-tiers...unless the player who played the mid-tier character stomped him, then he'll lab both the character and the player.
Watching kinda CEO kinda makes me wanna hyper focus on just 2-3 fighting games this year as opposed to trying to play everything, but i can't help it, im a connoisseur :(

Sega needs to hurry up and port FS so, I can just play VF all day with a reignited flame people might have to play it. Most 2D FGs for me just don't cut it. Really picky with those since they tend to not have much straight forward options. or freedom of playstyles beyond rushdown with little emphasis on feeling people out. You stand around, you die. I know it seems odd for a Makoto play (SF) to not want 100% RD.
I've been playing alot of Hitomi lately, and her fists are still on fire! what's all this misinformation about her being terrible?

I'd argue DoA6 as a whole is easy. Shouldn't matter so much the character. Then again, there's the SFV situation where's it's so easy, it's hard of course to stay consistent thus people are critical of characters that don't offer instant results. Since you kinda need that to happen.

I would like to see Hitomi nerfed for no other reason than Raansu deserves it.

Being an ex-VF character main, I'm still conflicted. I've made my decision but man, were the VF characters just fun and rewarded effort put in. I don't get that feeling much anymore.
So, who's your day 1 main for Samsho? Jubei all day for me, maybe a little Earthquake to, even though they nerfed his old sonic the hedgehog run animation and gave him a generic fat man run :<

For me, its Yoshitora all day, with Nakoruru on deck. Ruixiang impressed me with her trap gameplay.

Once I'll get the game, Kurama as main, Shiki as secondary.

I was only able to play an hour but I'm definitely gonna main Ukyo cause of the Iajutsu style. Always was a fan of it when I saw Setsuka use it in Soul Calibur.
why are Tifa's breasts such a point of contention? like it doesn't matter what the franchise is, you mess with the breasts, you deal with the rest
