    If Stadia and xCloud are cash cows, who'll want to deal with frame-perfect optimization and content creation, anymore?

    The average gamer will be tolerating 100ms+, even in single player content o_0
    I know it's technically a dumber, more linear DoA, but... I dunno, I'm having a great time with 6 so far.

    Maybe it's finally switching to a stick? Maybe it's the little stuff like Quest, adding to the presentation?

    But in the absence of lobbies and tag, I really expected to be playing much less, and barely enjoying what I did play.

    Here's hoping it's another good five odd years for 6, too.

    Despite it's short comings (No one has blinders on dense enough to not admit them) it's a good game. Given time I have full faith it will be one of the best DOAs in the series.

    DOA6 is honestly much better now than it was during the DOA5 era because the game is now easier to get into, looks utterly fantastic compared to DOA5 with much better visual direction, has a sidestep system that keeps abusive "string-heavy" pressure characters in check, and has a stun system that is less obnoxious than DOA5's. In a year or 2, DOA6 could easily turn out to be possibly the best DOA game.
    Force negative resolution scaling in ranked, if a PC client sits under 60fps? Getting a lot of 5 bar, wired potato PC opponents.

    If they'd have introduced Honkers and Marie in 5, with the same story content that they were given in 6, I wouldn't have any issue with their designs to anything like the same degree.

    Going forward, TN really need to give other non-guest DLC characters a story path, the way they have with Nyotengu.

    they more or less look and act the same in both games and the story content didn't change anything. especially honkers, still a blob with her head in the air despite being the story's focus. i think people are having MORE issues with her thanks to that.
    Is there a trick to baiting Fatal Stun in Quest #53? Neither Ayane nor Hayate seem interested in triggering it.

    I'm not sure, but try sidestepping a lot. Fatal Rushes are designed to thwart sidesteps.
    Points excess to the amount needed for a costume to unlock overflow onto another random costume for that character.

    Client is a total mess, and it launched with the recently discovered matchmaking bug that can softlock the game. Matches just aren't happening, and when they are, the potato PC crowd drawn to FTP titles are destroying overall connection quality.

    Worse still - it appears, overnight, players of lesser competitive talent have realised that the game has a total lack of anti-cheat - cheatengine works in multiplayer, and your ranked progress file is stored on the local HDD and is editable. OHK exploits are popping up everywhere.

    Browsing the forum, it's probably worth pointing out for those who haven't worked through the tutorial: 6S.H (Break Blow cancel) is a thing, and there's absolutely no reason to miss Critical Bursts and Power Blows/Launchers.

    They're essentially still in the game, only with a different name and standardized access/input.
    Re: Leifang's final combo challenge. Can't land the black 3, following the cancelled Break Blow.

    If I do it too soon, Lei ignores the command. If I wait too long, Kasumi drops.

    Any tips?

    Same. It has an educational aspect to it, as well - the challenges often seem to be highlighting useful moves/features, which can only be good for the quality of opposition online in the long run.

    Not feeling the angst I'm seeing elsewhere about the custom unlocks, with Quest in the game, either. Seems to work out well.
    Seems pretty tight on PC. Any word on what content from that Season Pass is actually available at launch?

    A guest character like Mai as the first wave of DLC makes some sense since it will attract newcomers but it probably would have been better if she and the other KOF character were in the game from the start instead of DLC. Likely, TN didn't want the guests drawing attention away from everyone else.

    I get the angle, but for many outsiders, 5/5U/5LR was 'that cashcow game with the anime tiddies.' Starting the Season Pass marketing with a cashgrab character with anime tiddies, considered as largely meh by the DoA regulars, isn't going to turn many heads.

    meh. This hasn't been the greatest of days, hype wise.

    I do wish it were two unique guests instead of bringing her back from 5 though.
    IGN interview reminded me of 5's early days in the public eye... Waiting on the backlash, lol.

    Will be interesting to see how things pan out. I wouldn't at all be surprised if a big portion of the existing playerbase knee-jerks to the fan service comments. Not that Helena's outfit looked any less servicey to me...

    Although I do wonder if the less fanservice claim will stick this time.

    The mechanical changes are what I know least about... on the one hand they say it will all seem familiar to veterans bit on the hand there are changes... big changes.

    Studio head's interview suggests otherwise. 'Major 5LR surprise' due around the neo paper launch date.
