I agree they should have given more attention to Raidou, but I can't help but feel he will only serve as a boss for DOA6, which is a shame. I wish his unique animations were more accessible too. Those flashy throws are the reason I tolerate him in the roster (plus the fact he represents a huge part of the lore of course). I'd love to like him more...

I’ve always wondered why the source of Honoka’s power has such a small move set. I personally think Raidou should’ve gotten more moves from the other ninja’s since he encountered all of them.
Though in terms of movekit, somewhat. A large majority of the roster have moves taken from another while adjusting the animation "slightly" to make it look not so similar to another character. Whereas Honoka and Raidou were exactly copied which was intentional.
That's one thing I like about DOA6 is how well-rounded the roster is. Although, I admit more development could go into characters like Diego & NiCO, but the rest all feel well-developed in their own right to the point of each character feeling like a nice addition to the cast. I also like how despite Raidou being a move thief, his animations appear different to the originals (compared to Honoka whom are copy & paste)
As for Honoka, from a gameplay standpoint, playing her feels very unique, and she's got a lot of depth to her surprisingly. From a character standpoint? No comment Lol.
@KwonJigglypuff Roundhouse kicks are pretty common among the cast and the assigned button usually is H+K. Rig and NiCO come to mind. 7K is usually a button for a back flip. 4H+K for Kasumi and Ryu is pretty much the same. There's also tons of throws and holds that look really similar to each other.
Granted that it's not a bad thing, other fighting games do the same thing to save time in character development or balance. But there hasn't been a single fighting game that I know of where every single character is unique entirely that separates them from the cast or a certain percentage (when it comes to the default cast).
I suppose anime fighters are a subject, but most animations are sprites for it (variable).
Diego is "basic bitch" the character. He's clearly made by japanese people who have no clue what Americans actually like in male characters designs... NiCO is a whole nother story. She's not bland, but she's unoriginal to the point where it's like "haven't I seen you before?". Both DOA6 newcomers (and Honoka the literal Love Live expy) show that they're creatively bankrupt and instead are following ""trends"".
@SaihateDYNAMO Imagine shoving a character down our throats like "yeah this is definitely what the westerners would like, totally oozes of it. They'll definitely like it". Kek.
When I heard Diego was made for western audiences I laughed out loud, bitch! Whew... I don’t get why we westerners are supposed to like him simply because he’s a dude with a familiar fighting style. Diego brings literally nothing new to the table, it’s pretty obvious they haven’t put much time in the game and it’s chars.
