In Russia numbers increasing again but no one cares, no one wears mask and everyone enjoy life. I live near sea and a lot of people visit our town. Beaches, cafes, everything is open

I honestly doubt that every single number is truly related to COVID. Media outlets are known for exaggerating and twisting the truth. If it’s truly a world wide pandemic, why is there such a discrepancy between the number of cases in 1st world countries that basically all started with these regulations around the same time.

In my country there are supposedly 56K cases of Corona. How can a country like Canada that’s ten times larger than my country only have 10K cases. All these numbers seem fake to me, and honestly I do think that the virus is greatly exaggerated because if it truly was that much of a pandemic and it was so deadly and urgent they would’ve done something about it back in November/December when it first appeared in China.

it is wild to talk to relatives back home and they're like "oh you know, we've only had about 90 deaths so far, but we're doing our best to stay safe, what about you guys over there?" and i just have cough awkwardly go "well...um...you see..."

Maybe the count here in the U.S is not as high as reported, but we definitely are not taking any necessary precautions. Stores are opening back up and people want to enjoy summer even if that means putting their health at risk.

Our government also seems to not be providing relief in a timely manner, so people and businesses are desperate. It's no surprise; Our healthcare system is terrible compared to Canada or Germany. Not only that, but the protests that're still happening across the country are also increasing COVID-19 exposure. So the numbers may very well be a close measurement

I was more speaking about the world. The numbers truly don’t match the “severity” of this world wide pandemic. If it truly was such a deadly and contagious virus where there’s no cure for there would’ve been way more numbers and people across the globe which just isn’t the case. That’s why in my opinion this virus isn’t as severe as the media portrays it to be.

The US & Brazil's response to the COVID-19 pandemic are appalling. Germany, Canada, and almost any Asian country for instance have handled the pandemic a lot better. All I can recommend for my American neighbours is to apply your own common sense to stay safe and ignore most of the bullshit.

@Onryoki Don't fuck with the coronavirus. The case numbers are no joke, and I seriously, seriously doubt it's a hoax. The case & death numbers are representative of a nation's response to the pandemic, relative exposure to its sources and the tendency for the citizens to "do the right thing/comply with health advisories".

Sometimes I do feel bad for you guys.

@Force_of_Nature I don’t fuck with it, that’s the whole point. But that is my stance on the virus. I follow the rules because I don’t want to get fined, but my thoughts and personal feelings about this virus are easily explained. People can either agree or disagree.

Canada has over 115K cases last I checked, it has around 9K deaths. And the majority of the deaths have been due to total negligence by all political parties for decades when it comes to long term care homes for the elderly (allowed them to be privatized and for-profit), otherwise we've done great. I've been watching both Canadian and US government responses and the difference is night and day.

It's really bad in Vegas, especially since they decided to reopen the casinos over a month earlier than originally planned. While masks are required to enter, people just rip them right off as soon as they pass security. I hate it here. -_-

The reason why the US is way ahead of other places is because of a combination of factors, but the worst of all is that the country is divided in so many ways more than any other country in the world. It's like literally two nations or two realities in one, where one half doesn't like, believe, or trust the other half. No other country politicized wearing of masks, only the US.

Conservative Canadians can be pretty bad out West, though fortunately most of them aren't as bad as some Republican minded individuals. But yes, both the US & Brazil have fucked up political situations that hurt their populations.

There are some crazy conservative for sure in Canada, but most conservatives are actually mostly fine here, nowhere near the level of conservatives in the US. They follow the science just fine. There's crazy people on the left too though, like the antivaxer types. As long as there's people who get their info from sketchy sources on the internet there'll be a few people like that where ever you go.
