Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

That's actually really interesting. I suppose that's solid, then. The movement, I mean. Seems like the biggest need of the neutral game is the pokes, really. How's the walking speed as of E3? Forward and backward I mean?

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

My question is if, for instance, a string was punch punch launch, the launchers didn't track or anything, right? And personally, I like both sidestep commands. DOA is a game that by it's control tries to appeal to more than one preference as shown with two different ways to block. Personally, I...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Do you really think incre This really seems like a situation of damned if we do, damned if we don't. I see what's going on, trying to create our own little metagame in DOA5 so the people who play this play a different game instead of playing the awful DOA game. Um...I suppose this is enough on...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Remake is the wrong word, and asking them to add pokes wasn't adding new attacks. It was modifying the data to add some moves that are safe on block to encourage spacing of some kind. Fixing of neutral game? That will half come with pokes coming into the game in general, and buffing the dashes...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

...That's really your only issue with this game? Look, if we're not gonna fix the neutral game, we might as well let it die. It's not just about the offense.

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

String delay should require commitment at the very least. For instance, if you want to delay a string, you should have to press the button you want to delay to, and hold it, and the move would execute on the release. >> At the very least.

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Agree. This sounds like a great way to at least aid the string delay problem. So far we have: - Increase Number of Safe Moves overall. - Increase Number of moves with Advantage on Block Overall (Less than Safe Moves). - Modify system so if strings are delayed AT ALL, they are unsafe on block...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Fair enough. My only concern with that is that TN teems to interpret statements with a little too much bias for my taste. So, we might want to watch how we record these things.

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

How do you suggest we do it then? Would numbers be better?

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

I see what you're saying. However, I think I'd like to make a compromise with you. In VF, nearly everything is safe. Somewhere along the lines of -4 to -8 on many many things. Personally, I think that game is too safe. So, here's my vote. I vote to have advantage on a percentage of moves for the...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Agreed. Well, pokes are fast, dont't get easily dodged, and at certain situations, can even draw CH stuns. Why should you get rewarded for getting blocked on your attacks. I do not believe 15% of moves should be positive on block. I think these numbers are awfully strange. If you don't mind...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Here's what I suggest. The negativity of moves, on block, should vary based on how much damage potential and utility each move by itself has to begin with. At least 15% Poke Type Moves (-1 to -3.) spread among useful places for the characters. Speed may vary. Reward will be low. Around 10% High...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

That would be too far to the other extreme. Virtua Fighter is probablt the safest 3D fighter on the market, bujut even that game doesn't have -4 launchers. Furthermore, with the current, dumb as hell stun system, the last thing that should happen is jabs being positive. Can one of the players...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Personally, my opinion is we need a lot of safer poke type moves. I can deal with the strings, as horrible as they are, because, if they give us good pokes, it'll be beaten out with a strong spacing game anyway, for the most part, especially because last I checked, DOA had BDC's (not so sure...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

I didn't mean it as a problem, just to clarify what we would be saying if we wanted safe moves as part of strings.

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Oh boy. Well, alright. Since it seems we have everybody in here as necessary except possibly Allen Paris, who will surely come eventually, I guess we can begin. Alright. We'll figure out about the damage and stuff later. It's one of the topics. I'll hold my opinion until then...

New Dengeki (JPN) report with Sarah Bryant and Rig in action!

Dead or Alive: Final Showdown would actually be a great name for a crossover. lol. Just throwing that out there. To be completely honest, this game would probably be better if TN did the asthetics, and VF did the system, but they incorporated FSD and Holds for the DOA characters. AM2-Ninja...

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Is this what was heard from Master, or did you hear it from TN yourself? So stuff like, the neutral game, the safety, the thresholds, the stun system, the thresholds, none of tis has a chance of being fixed? Regardless of what they said, developers go back on their word all the time. It would...

Well, looks like there's gonna be a lot of Sarah players. Virtua Fighter: Dead or Alive. lol

Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

I wanted to, before the 15th, make a thread to discuss the remaining issues of DOA5. With the Master saga just having passed, I wanted to see if there's any way possible we could give Team Ninja a nice, united, relatively quick-fix list to use either before or after the game comes out. This...
