TN should really just drop DoA as a fighting game and just focus on DoAX since thats clearly what they want to do, plus the amount of outsourcing for DoA6 has been rediculous. just save money as a company, kill the game and become one of those low budget fanservice japanese anime games that no ones barely heard of that they keep doing collabs with and live your best life.

DoA should've never become this frustrating of a fighting game.

It's a shame that this wouldn't even be that shocking were it to happen. Maaaaaaaan, how did we get here?

The problem with DOA hasn't really been just the "fanservice". It's that they have no sense of scale, balance, or brakes now. With any other fighting game, you have a sense that they can go in a few different directions with characters and designs going forward. But, with DOA now, it's just...nope. It's only going to be more of the same going forward.

I don't think that was intentional. I think they were just poorly coordinated this year (surprise!)

But, he's not wrong about the Western dominance. In the DOA5 era, the top players in the West were pretty clearly better than the best Japanese players, but that gap has widened a notable amount in 6. Hopefully the disparity irritates the Japanese players enough that they can effectively campaign for system changes more akin to 5, but from what I'm told, the current director seems to host similar apathy towards the local fanbase as the foreign one.

This game main issue is the lack of creativity and a clear vision.

I feel they just don't enjoy working on this franchise anymore, this franchise just feels like easy money grab and nothing more, unlike back in Itagaki era.

Right now the easy way to get money is designing cute girls and revealing clothes but if tomorow the trend would be cute boys, they would go for that and would stop designing cute girls.

Back in older games they designed the characters we know because they really wanted to design these characters. A male character was male because that's how they wanted it to be and a female character was female due the same. Now male characters are male because that is what they think sells in west ande female characters are female because that is what they think sells in Japan. It's not about creativity, it's about easy money.

That's why they just can't understand what's wrong with this game and they are still failing to deliver fixes 9 months after release.

I didn't know the volleyball game had more importance at the event but that pretty much sums up how they view DOA6. I can't even imagine how this game can get back on it's feet if the people at the top don't care at all.

While it continues to anger me that a DOAX girl comes to 6 before they add another of the excluded girls from the main games, I've come to accept the pointlessness of whining about it. I'm still angry about all the things being done wrong with the series so I'm just going to move on to less disappointing games like last round or the older DOA games or a different series entirely and just be angry and disappointed in that.

Still coming back for Rachel though...

The setup for the event was better last year. Lots of matches were fast tracked this time. Honestly too much DOAX and a scattered stream with too many breaks from the action.
