Pai still does fine against lighter weight characters for damage, and against heavy weights she lacks damage but she walks all over them in speed. You can't have everything, but the fact remains that even with lower damage she does not have to take any of the risks a DOA 4 character would have to take with the stun game and she has an abnormally good neutral game.
And Pai does have some good unholdables but her damage is pathetic now unless you resort to guessing games. Another thing they killed was her wall game, which if you play VF you know the wall should be a very scary place but not anymore :/
Speaking of Pai,
I've been experimenting with her quite a bit as of late.
I think she is extremely underused and underrated.
- Her holds arent as bad as people think (even on fastest SE you can guarantee something from all her holds except LOW P hold... HIGH K hold can give you a free dash in BT jab on fastest SE which would start a stun game .. but all other holds can give you launchers into a free juggle for the most part )
- Her throw game is also mean as hell, with the potential to either mixup or get a guaranteed juggle from certain throws. even put an opponent in a 1 guess burst situation.
- She may have lost the juggle 66H+K rebounce, but her 46H+K rebounce is quite good and gives sufficient juggle damage if set up correctly. I think she still has good juggle potential.
- Shes a fast bitch .. lol. with a 9 frame jab and 2 11 frame mids (6P and 3P+K)
- she has 2 MID strikes that register as crouching (for people inexperienced, this means that they not only beat throws but also standing offensive holds.. and the only way to catch them is with a crouching OH ). these are 46P+K and 2P+K ... this can be alot more disgusting vs a grappler than you think ... (consider Lisa's 1P nightmare)
- her + frames are glorious .. and she has decent safety.
- she has a ton of variation to her strings ... making her a mix-up monster.
