A rain stage would fit Helena alot for some reason. Helena vs Christie on a rainy stage would seem cannon lol. Also Kasumi vs Ayane would be a great fight on a rainy stage.

Even though this movie is complete ass, this scene of the movie would make a great tage.

i prefer the focus on character models, In a fighting game the characters are the primary focus regardless correct?

In any other fighting game, where the stages are just static backgrounds, yes. But in doa, the beautiful interactive linking stages are half the appeal to begin with. It's part of why vanilla five was such a letdown. Im glad they brought back so many DOA3 stages (though im still waiting on the underwater stage and my Fav, doatech tower), but the actual 5 stages still suck for the most part.

I don't care how good the graphics are, so long as the cutscenes run 60 FPS, too. Seriously, I can tell that a lot of modern games only run at 30. Even DOA4 had 60 FPS cutscenes.

Of course, I could be nitpicking, but...

I dunno, I have very mixed feelings.
Part of me wouldn't ever want to go back, part of me totally does.
And I'm talking just about character design now, not "overall feeling of the game".
It's hard to explain.
I liked the old style a lot and never complained like many other people did (only thing it was lacking was REAL animations for facial features, liek REAL facial expression instead of just mouth open/mouth closed and eyes open/eyes closed)
At the same time I reall like the new style.
I dunno, it's hard to pick one.
Like the "getting dirty" feature. I don't really like it but then for some reason I never turn it off lol

One thing Team Ninja should improve is the way they model some parts of the body models. Mainly anklets and partially wrists too.
But with the character roster increasing and increasign and increasing that's hardly going to happen.

Also overall I feel costumes had more "animated parts" in DoA4. Or is it just my bias because most of the DoA5 costumes suck?

No. The most important part of the graphics in any fighting game is the framerate. It doesn't matter if you have stages with high resolution textures and dynamic animations if the framerate cannot be kept to a static 60 frames per second. There's a reason why fighting games are the last genre where consistent 60 fps is mandatory (where every other genre is now down to 30 or less). Players who play these things at high levels can not only see slight drops in framerate, but we can feel it in our fingers as well.

I see no reason why you can't have beautiful/varied/colorful stages and 60 FPS. I mean we see it in Lost World, Forest, Sky City Tokyo, etc. DOA5's stages were just boring for the most part. It had nothing to do with maintaining framerate; it was just uninspired design.

(Off topic) A lot of people want full customization options but I feel like if they did that, the quality of hair and clothes would drop. Also some people want create-a-character options and I feel like it would be a WWE game situation where the created characters look like crap compared to the real roster.

Some of the lower budget JRPGs I've played have field framerates of like 15 (I'm looking at you Hyperdimension Neptunia) and I can't even explain how great it feels to play DOA after them.

Random question does anyone think they portrayed Bayman as a happier person in the game? he didn't seem to mind losing to Hayate either times, joking with Christie , smiling durring his mercenary mission, and I'm pretty sure he's smiling during character select. I think Bayman might have been slipped some brownies.

With so many BEUs out there with full customization or just plain character creation, I feel DoA should remain the last bastion of NO character customization.
The way they went (slightly different details for each costumes) is the way to go.

This approach, to work, has to be supported with BEAUTIFUL and DETAILED and INSPIRED costumes though, and I feel DoA5 didn't completely succeed in that, not as much as its predecessors at least.

For me this is a great idea and I hope that they will continue to post them even for the future DLC packs ;) (and by the way, the inclusion of future concept arts means future new original outfits, seeing like TN didn't post drawings for Leon, Bass, Kasumi and Rachel, being all outfits created in past games).

It's only a little shame the absence of the concept arts for the Virtua Fighter characters, but I don't complain because the sharing for all the rest of the roster was awesome!

Here is the hypocrisy I don't understand.

Someone just ragemailed me for constantly doing milas takedown. Keep in mind, I wasn't spamming the takedown by itself, I was using her entire moveset with no slamming, its just that most of her moves can end with the takedown.

But what got me was my only response was "didn't you spend thevl entire match trying to spam one juggle?"

I mean why be mad about takedowns, but totally okay with spamming a juggle? They are equivalent, only you can break out of the takedown.

I love hate mail making stupid people mad is the best feeling. Surprisingly I've never gotten hate mail for when I've put someone up against the wall and spammed Bayman's wall slam 10+ times in a row :confused:

It is sad to see how poor peoples logical thinking has gotten though

My favorites are ones like "stop grabbing so much!" When im using grapplers, and "stop spamming counters!" Which is fundamentally impossible since its a reactive function. As in, I could only spam counters if you are spamming q move i keep countering.
