Idk which of us is taking the other's post more seriously...but thank you for explaining the underlying mentality when selecting a character in a fighting game tournament...

http://shoryuken.com/2013/09/15/the...ina-ae-2012-umvc3-and-doa5u-team-tournaments/where are the recaps of the fall classic?
why would anyone ever feel uncomfortable about representing DOA?I hope this showing allows more people to feel more comfortable to represent the game at their locals and majors
It has anwhy would anyone ever feel uncomfortable about representing DOA?
So....you are talking down about someone because they put in hardwork and dedication, as opposed to relying on novelty and possibly over powered characters?Same old ass players using their old ass characters, minus Lopedo and the Bladez. I feel like a good portion of the cast is being ignored at a high level.....Unless said old ass players are having long training sessions to establish that their crusty character is still legit...
Good. We are better off for not having such retards in our midst. Tits or GTFO does us all a favor by separating the wheat from the chaff. It has anunfairodd reputation that does deter people.
It's reputation does not consist solely of that. DOA2 had ridiculous hold damage that made the game feel like it constantly deterred you from attacking at all. DOA4 had a stun/hold system that basically rewarded you for doing random things. The community itself is known for harboring a lot of disagreement, some dissatisfaction, etc. and yes, even a large part of its community is literally indifferent to gameplay and only cares about fanservice.Good. damn brute telling it like it is. My thing is people need to realize T&A doesn't carry a series. MK had blood. KOF had story. GG had the music and art style. I can go on for days, but a fighter has something related to the gameplay that makes the game cool. It's reputation does not consist solely of that. Only idiots concern themselves with past things that cannot be changed and don't keep an open mind about how things are today. Why should I or anyone else care what such fools think? It's reputation does not consist solely of that. Well, you have X amount of time and money to invest in things, and if they don't have a great track record, you are taking a bigger risk investing in something that may not pay-out as well. For example, would you hire an employee who has a history of not showing up to work and rejecting authority even if he claims that he's now better? That is all in the past, obviously. Even if he is telling the truth, it will logically take some extra convincing for people to give him another shot. I feel that's kinda where DOA is now. I think it's a great contribution to the FG scene, but I can't demonize someone who is skeptical. Skepticism is of course different from those who claim it's bad despite never playing it. It's just a matter of being convincing enough.Only idiots concern themselves with past things that cannot be changed and don't keep an open mind about how things are today.
No risk, no reward. I gave DOA 15 minutes to amuse me when I was searching for a replacement for Halo. DOA won those 15 minutes. You can buy DOA used at GS, give it a try and if ya don't like it, return it for a full refund. I dont see any room for excuses tbh.Well, you have X amount of time and money to invest in things, and if they don't have a great track record, you are taking a bigger risk investing in something that may not pay-out as well.
