  • Kuni 2 looking kinda nice. The way they are handling ranked is nice too.......for players above red ranks who are probably not going to rage quit as often as people below those ranks, this is only going to be working well if they are thinking about implementing a penalty system for rage quitting, otherwise ranked will be even worse than how it was in S2-3.

Depending on how they'll handle balancing, the health increase might either be a good addition to the game or will be one of the most important additions that the game's going to be needing. One more stage and character outside of Kuni which will be the last relatively big update Tekken 7 will be receiving probably.
*Sees GBFVS community on literal flames on Twitter* Ugh, you know what? People should just play whatever they like. Its only been a damn day and the patch for season 2 came with A LOT of changes, players probably haven't even figured the new things the characters can and can't do fully and yet they're already whining about the things that did get nerfed. Think I'm done shitting on Tekken 7....ffs.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Yeah, the Ladiva changes are something that I don't really agree with but there might be some hidden tech waiting to be uncovered by someone that'll make the character stronger again, but then we have people whining about Percival and Ferry nerfs, who I don't feel that are bad characters still and whats ironic about it is that many were saying that they should be nerfed for a long time before the patch.

From what I've seen, Percival lost an entire midscreen combo and that is pretty drastic so people complaining is kind of justified. But you're right, it'll take a bit more time to find out how things work now. It just doesn't look too good.

It sure doesn't. Big issue with this is that this could turn away people who would've liked to give the game a shot, since their favourite players are saying that this game doesn't feel good to play for them now, at the same time, its important for them to voice their opinions about the state of the game especially if its going in the wrong direction. We'll see how things will turn out with the game soon enough.
Kind of torn between buying an Xbox One X in the near future or buying a new PC. On one hand, with KI and Halos being on Steam now, the only reason I'd buy a One X would be the Horizon games, the old NG's and the old DOA's (if they are made backwards compatible in the future), on the other hand, emulation is becoming better day by day plus my laptop is 4 years old, I'll need a new PC/laptop sooner or later.

I'd say AMD's Zen 3 based CPUs, the Ryzen 5000 series that will be launched this October, the 8 core model Ryzen 7 5700X; the current Ryzen 3000 is great as well (I'm using a Ryzen 7 3700X), but the 5000 series will be on another level (AMD will skip the 4000 name on desktop CPUs it seems to achieve parity with the mobile range).

Nice, thanks for all the info. I'll definitely go for a new PC instead of an Xbox.

RTX 3060 will seem decent. Interested to see how it would compare to the current RTX 2070.
Wow, someone managed to make the unplayable characters in Soul Calibur 3 playable 2 years ago via a code that makes them appear in the "Bonus Characters" part of the character select screen with the exception of Dragon and Doppleganger. Never would've imagined that they'd somehow become this easily selectable on the character select screen years after the game's release.
Jesus this presentation was impressive, pricing was something that I've pretty much expected of them to do, 500 $ for 5 with disk, 400 for 5 Digital, three months away from release. Still no extra info on backwards compatibility, or the UI, hopefully they'll have one last presentation one and a half/one month prior to the release of the console.

@Chaos Yes but the PS5 will have console selling exclusive games relatively soon after its release, can't say the same for Xbox's Series X/S, I care about older games but new ones excite me more. Hardware and BC for Xbox is good, they have beaten Sony there but that's just not enough + there are a lot more games that they should make BC still, DOA2U, 3, 4 etc.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
@Chaos They had a golden opportunity with KI, now thats a console selling exclusive imo, they should've picked up the team a long time ago for a new KI game but lo and behold, it didn't happen (yet). Some people legit just have an Xbox One S/X at home to play KI.

@Hold_Junkie93 From what I've seen, those are the PS4 games that are free with PS+ for the PS5 but they didn't say anywhere that other PS4 games won't be working on PS5, this would contradict what they've said about the "top 100 PS4 games being enhanced on PS5 but almost every PS4 game will run on PS5" message they made a good couple of months ago. As I said, one more presentation, BC info in it.
HOLY COW new RWBY game confirmed and its made by WayForward and ArcSys. Also wonder if this confirms that no more dlc is going to be made for BBTag, hmmm.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
It'll be a beat'em up probably, given that the last game they made together was River City Girls, also, WayForward iirc hasn't made a fighting game yet, doubt it'd be any different this time. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

RWBY + ArcSys is a Yes, Please to me! BBTAG had a decent run.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
It did but I think its safer to say that no more content is going to come to Tag only close to the end of this year, the next possible event where ArcSys could reveal something about it is TGS, afterwards, chances are slim but I'll be hopeful about it still. The RWBY game might include events up until Season 8, its starting pretty soon and might potentially be done by the time the game gets released (speculation)
Honestly, I'd like to see KT give another shot to a Dynasty/Samurai Warriors 3D fighting game, or create a fighting game somewhat similar to Bamco's Soul Calibur.

Weren't SC/DW1 released '97? Unless you mean in terms of development times? Since SE/B was '95
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Only DW1 was released in '97. Soul Calibur 1 was released in August 5 (JP), September 9 (NA) and December 1 (EU) in 1999 on Dreamcast, the date is one of the reasons why I said SE/SB instead, the other one was that DW1 and SC1 were on different consoles while SC/SB and DW1 were both released on PS1.
Damn, lots of people giving Ubisoft a hard time about the Sands of Time remake. Yes, the character models look rough and it also doesn't look like something that comes out for next gen (because, like, it doesn't + alpha footage) but it doesn't look as bad as they say it to be, also, who cares, gameplay is what matters and from the look of things it has the gameplay that you'd be expecting from PoP/Sands of Time.

Sands of time is getting a remake? Let's go! Loved that game
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Yes it is, Sands of Time feels very unique compared to what followed after, glad that they are returning to PoP after such a long time. I hope that later down the line they'll consider remaking Warrior Within, can't really care about Two Thrones, game felt like a combination of the 1st and 2nd game with gameplay being pretty much the same as WW + the Dark Prince mechanic.
Lots of likes on NG Trilogy news on Twitter. People have their eyes on KT and NG right now (partially because of Nioh), we can definitely expect the announcement of NG4 not too long after the release of the trilogy. Wonder if there'll be some minor changes to some of the games, like, they could replace the purple mist in Sigma 2 with blood at the very least.
    HHH816
    HHH816
so you expect a new NG after this:oops:
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
It may slightly depend on how well the trilogy will sell but yeah, not too long ago we've heard that they know people want a NG4, fast forward a couple of months/a year and we're getting the "Sigma" trilogy on current gen consoles next year's March potentially minus Xbox for known reasons, there's a relatively big chance that they'll make NG4 for next gen consoles, late 2023-early 2024 if I have to guess.

Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing is the DOA3.1 of the Sega/Sonic racing games, while Transformed is a lot of fun and has more going for it in terms of content, gameplay-wise it is inferior to its predecessor, can't say much about Team Sonic Racing, haven't played it yet kind of looks fun though.
You can hate Byakuya's top-tier ass all day everyday but you can't deny the fact that he has the best theme in the game, Beat Eat Nest is so good.
How you know that you are a true KH fan: When a friggin' rhythm game with important story bits (for Kairi mostly it seems) makes you want to play KH games all of a sudden. Most who are really into KH are invested in the lore, story (yes, even if it can be confusing af) and characters of the franchise + we're also curious of what Nomura can come up with in every new KH game that he makes.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Also, KH2 is a very good arpg, rivals the best DMC, Bayo, NG games and Nier Automata imo, speedrun starts for the game are crazy, both for lvl 1 and for the Data org fights.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Certain strategies would be changing then since certain attacks of the bosses iirc are triggered based on the HP they have (Lingering Will comes to mind), mob fights would be quicker, early game slightly slower maybe since you can't death-abuse the first fights. The modding community for KH is making some great projects, there's also a Roxas mod out there made by a person other than Xaddgx.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Issue with lvl 99 run would be with the set-up as it takes a super long time to get Roxas to lvl 99 plus fights would be uninteresting since being lvl 1/underleveled requires you to use your tools the best way possible to finish a mob/boss fight as quickly as you can, while being super overleveled would just take away from the variety that normal runs have since you're able to kill everything easily.
The more I dig deeper into Nights of Azure's gameplay the more I realize that I was wrong about the second game having better gameplay. You have so many combo options in the first game, you can do Servan summons (for some of them these are attacks) after heavy slashes, supers, weapon switching also opens up a lot of combo routes, attacks out of roll, depending on the weapon 3-4 heavy attacks
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Servan burst, special circle attacks for every weapon, add on the fact that you can take 4 Servans with yourself, making your combo routes/options immense, while the second game's weapon switching is Servan based, your Servans are automatically summoned as soon as you enter an area, no supers, no attacks out of the dash, no special O attacks.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
The final boss battle theme and certain aspects of Aluche's character compared to Arnice's are what are better in the 2nd game compared to NOA1. Ok, I'm not saying that you'll be finding as much depth in gameplay as you do in Ninja Gaiden or DMC or Bayo or Nier Automata but compared to the fact that NOA was Gust's first/only attempt at an arpg, the first game was quite ok gameplay-wise.
The Steam version of SFV never warned about entering in my first fight the second I booted up the game. Such a hard battle in order to make the game not black screen crash on me on start-up (also, why TF do you need 2 exe's??????????, didn't even play the goddamn game yet and its already pissing me off, especially if I look at the mountain of *possible* fixes to this shit *sigh*).
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Making an exception for a lot of game-related files within Avast seems to have been the solution but even then you have to launch it from Steam in order for it to work, the two exe's just won't open the game up correctly, jesus, it has been a long time since I had this much problem with getting a game to work on PC, ah well, nothing you can do about it unfortunately.
Honestly, with all of these online tournaments being held for these older fighting games because of COVID slowing down the developments of the newer games + closing many people in their houses where they don't have anything better to do after a while negates almost any excuse for anyone who wants to play older fighting games but can't because there aren't players on it usually.

You'd think that Sega would know better to re-release some of their games on current gen consoles and PC given the massive library of old and good games they have but apparently they know better. Well, maybe the recent success of Persona 4 Golden on Steam will make them think about it again.
    Hold_Junkie93
    Hold_Junkie93
I have a feeling that Sega only releases stuff because they think the target audience in particular region or whatever, or are fake.
I only now learned that Arc Sys restructured most of their company, positions and development teams, Mori isn't the developer/director of Blazblue anymore, instead, he's the company's "Branding Fellow", apparently for a good couple of months now. On one hand, this is the death sentence to the Dark War mobile game, we won't be hearing anything about it for a long time, if at all.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
True, which could be the reason why we didn't get any tours for Europe, I don't remember/know big European Blazblue or Granblue streamers or competitors at all and indeed, I don't think they care about their netcode, they always listen to their Japanese fans first regarding almost everything right and wrong about their games, unfortunately at times.
    Force_of_Nature
    Force_of_Nature
Yup, it's unfortunate and quite frankly holds back the growth of most Japanese games.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
The netcode of their games really have to be the worst in order for them to do something about it, like how UNICLR might get rollback/netcode improvements in the future, because it is indeed garbage even in EU, out of like the 20 matches I had with different individuals only one, one was that had a 2 frame delay, the rest 3 or above, way above.
What are your opinions on RE in Soul Calibur 6? For me, its a mechanic that is there as something extra that you need to be mindful of but its not annoying at all...well, in S2 it isn't. Over relying on it will either get you often sidestepped, which is easy with SCVI's movement or making you eat a lot of damage when the opponent uses a guard break move against it.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
It is a good option when you're seeing a move coming with a lot of hits in order to build the soul gauge and it isn't a bad defensive option but overall it isn't something that one should be relying on too much, it is something that should be whipped out a few times in a match only....unless you're Talim.
    Radiance
    Radiance
I thought it was annoying at first, but Soul Calibur has plenty of safe attacks that allow you recover, react, and sidestep in time. If you're playing safe and have solid fundamentals then RE probably won't phase you at all. However, I did like the use of meter in SCV, having access to EX moves whenever you have meter and not just in Soul Charge.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Well, Yoshi still has attacks that cost meter for him to do despite him not being in soul charge but thats one of the unique things about him, moves that make him gain/absorb meter which he can use for ex moves, so I guess one could say that its not completely gone.
Roshi got revealed, I mean, many, including myself thought that he'd be one of the 5 dlc characters of this season pass, nothing surprising here, this is still nice, with all of these immensely strong (story-wise) and more popular characters that they could still put in the game from Z, GT and Super, they chose one who's been there since the original DB anime/manga. Now, Omega Shenron next?
