Let's get away from the stupid as I'm not sure where to put this but TN added in a mini-impromptu tournament for DOA6 at EVO Japan... no not the exhibition:
I like guests but this also varies on what type of guests gets included. There are good guest characters and there are bad ones. Weird how people call it insulting when at times does help a game (depending on what that game is but trust me, I've seen some shitty guests before so I can't blame people at times), if they added absolute trash guests all the time then insulting would actually make sense. DOA at times be looking like flat rubber oozing blandness with it's standard characters, so it is what is.
Personally I never disliked Mai (neutral mostly at first) however her return in a way is pretty scumbag when she hopped on the same boat as Akira and the rest. She literally swam back in the middle of the ocean while the others ride to the sunset, literally a traitorous move on her end. Truthfully if Akira and the others go, Mai has to bounce too. Doesn't matter if she has a pair of tits and thighs. TN obviously played a bit of favoritism and went with the obvious typical business standpoint of bringing her back in for who knows why, considering guests in other games came in late entry and never returned so why should she be special?
If the VFs are gone then they are gone, oh well shit happens. My disappointment from Mai comes from that reason mostly. She did not take the same plane ticket as the others did as they peek through the plane window looking at Mai still in the waiting area while she's waiting for a taxi back to DOA city. Moments like that makes you wanna go "Wow so I guess TN really wants me to -actually- ask for Akira back? since I never actually asked him back" because you can't just do that. This probably wouldn't be a topic for me via Mai if she was replaced by an entirely different female SNK character which they have a lot mind you. Like I probably mentioned twice already, if the VFs are gone then they are gone, but Mai should of left too.

I don’t get why Mai also should have left along with the other guests. 3 of the 4 VF we had were playable for almost 6 years whereas Mai was playable for 2 years. Out of all the guests. Mai had the least time to shine on DOA and deserves a second chance. Akira, was a good guest character and he had a lot of time to shine but unfortunately his time is over. Also, just because Mai returns doesn’t mean the VF also should return, at this point I’d rather see new guests rather than old ones.

If the guest is male then I want Kyo, but if it is a female then I want Yuri. If it is Leona and she plays like a normal 3D character then I would want her, but If she plays like Hilde then give me Yuri instead.

Lol how have you not learned by now that sometimes you just have to leave it be. In DOA5, 15 characters had the same body type and DOA people vehemently defended it saying it wasn't true when other people said DOA was a titty fighter or had the same face/body (you've seen this before). Now there are 3 lolis (Didn't know Honoka was a loli since I assumed the character she copied wasn't a loli and DOA Honoka is stacked) and DOA people are now calling it a loli fighter the same way other people call the game a titty fighter. Like being a "loli fighter" is any worse that what DOA currently is. The total count is 15 to 3.
It's the same DOA scenario as usual.
- People saw some tits, ignored the male members, and called DOA a titty/waifu fighter.
- People saw 3 Lolis, ignored everyone else, and called DOA a loli fighter.
Maybe the gameplay thread? It's shocking to see people keep getting hit by Nico's lightning bolt launcher. Looks like only one person blocked it.
Shouldn't matter. Guests from other games had that same treatment being entered and 2 years is still a moderate good number for guest inclusion so that's not even a discussion of "time to shine", that character didn't shine because majority of the consumers bought her for other reasons, as well as people mostly subbed her because they were absolutely bored out of their minds. Mai in more serious note, only managed to sneak back in because SNK still has their contract up with TN. This wouldn't be a discussion if she was replaced by an entirely different SNK female character where there wouldn't be a loophole trick on legit excuses. Mai had 2 years of time which was more than enough with how easy DOA is, people already found good tech with that character including Japan so that's out the window.
All guest characters are the same. 3rd party company characters are all treated the same. Same shit with Akira. If he returned and people made scapegoat attempts for him not leaving while the others did, I'd actually sympathize with them. I'd obviously be a massive dick and rub it on people's faces since anyone that gets slapped by that character and complains are most obviously not good at the game, but yet I'd still sympathize on them, weird kek right? and yes that's precisely what I mean including all other FGC forums on guests. If Naotora and the VFs gotta go, Mai should of left too. You don't make that call (except TN apparently because obvious tits is obvious pants zips, which is obvious money machines). Again, this wouldn't be a topic if she was replaced by an entirely new SNK female guest, that way you'd have "2" new guest characters instead of one, derp?

Possibly. Terry and Kyo would be interesting, but wouldn't bet on it since Tyaren made a hint with the amount of costumes the second character is getting which could also hint of a new female character, though I'd like to be surprised either way if it turns out to be Terry/Kyo/Blue Mary/Iori/Geese/Rugal.
Terry and Geese seems very unlikely seeing as they were used recently for other games. Female terry was more of a spin-off thing and not exactly canon, but I'd still play female Terry.

To me, it might be either...
1.) Angel because her moveset is almost built for a 3D fighter with all the throws, juggles, and mixup options has. Just about all her moves and animations would work perfectly in DOA. Plus she’s basically SNK’s second “sex symbol” after Mai.
2.) Mary cause she’s pretty iconic and would be a good pair for Mai since they’re the original ladies of Fatal Fury. Her defensive-based moveset with all the counters and grapples would also fit DOA like a glove, emphasis on the counters. Her expert holds could be electrified like some of her Real Bout 1 throws were.
3.) For a male character, Kyo because... he’s Kyo! If he’s in they’ll probably use his rekka moveset over his classic one. I have a feeling his Break Blow is going to be his 182 Shiki since it’s a simple yet powerful punch to the face that would look awesome in slow mo.
I wanna say Athena too because she was practically SNK’s female mascot for a while, plus she has hella outfit choices. Imagine if over they actually added all her costumes (besides that, would her moves work? I can’t imagine Phoenix Arrow or Psycho Sword for example being implemented properly). Idk about terry or iori since they’re having their time to shine in other crossovers... and if they didn’t specifically mention “KOF 14” I would also have added Shermie and May Lee since I think they would play awesome in DOA, mostly Shermie since she has a stylish wrestling moveset and has already appeared in SNK Heroines so she has alternate costumes already.

Can't forget Kula as well, seeing as TN and SNK made a collaboration promotional poster together a while back despite the Kula render was KOF14 Kula.
I do hope it's Terry and Kyo, and I wouldn't mind if it turns out to be Iori, Geese, Blue Mary, and Rugal.
