DOA6 Graphics Thread

Did people forget they can adjust the brightness?
It’s not about screen brightness since that doesn’t affect the ingame graphics engine, just the brightness of the screen you’re using. Some things can still look strange even if I set my TV to lowest.

Y'all know I'm hype afh to get my hands on this and log 100 hours in the first two weeks.

We all hype to play this game, just cause some are talking about their issues w the visuals in a video game doesn’t mean they don’t care about playing... idk where this website gets that mentality from

I have no doubt everyone is excited to play this game on this site so I have no idea what mentality you're talking about. XD

Though Brute makes me wonder sometimes...

Like whenever someone speaks out about ANYTHING negative towards DOA6, all of a sudden they don’t like the series? Or if they talk about the graphics that means theyre casuals who don’t care about the mechanics or the competitive aspect of the game? Voicing one’s complaints over stage design, hair physics and lighting is suddenly “nitpicky” because it’s not blind praise towards a game that isn’t perfect (no game is)? That’s what I mean

The people who complain the most are typically the ones who have the most love for the series since they want for it to look the best it possibly can. Unless they’re trolling of course but that’s obvious lol

Apparently l0l

If you adjust the brightness on your TV the brightness in the actual game is still messed up. The overexposure that leads to Lisa's white pants and boots lacking any detail will remain. The beaming white will just turn to grey if you turn brightness and contrast down. That's not a proper fix.

I enjoy reading Tyaren's rants because they're usually pretty informative and factual about the errors they're making graphically. I don't doubt anyone's love for the series if they've had the thought to make an account on a forum dedicated to it.

When Brad posted "did people forget they can adjust the brightness", I believed he meant by TN changing it via day-one patch. That's what I meant by responding w/ "apparently". Besides, I already told Master a thousand times that you guys complained about it in twenty plus pages ever since Road Rage was shown, so I'm sure they'll take care of the situation xD

He also promised to talk to the devs about the navel thing... ;) I fully trust him forwarding our complaints, but whether that leads to any actual changes/improvements is a whole other thing. The developers seem to have their hands full with other stuff. The game had to be delayed after all.

Yep. The team is small, so there's only so much they can do in so little time :(

It looks better to me, DOA5 looks super washed out and dull

DOA6 is vibrant like DOA4 is
Yeah I fear they'll change it every build we see, that evo Japan stream had the colors darker with low ligthting and the game looked horrible. The vibrant colors and such is honestly one of my favorite things about 6 and I'm someone who keeps their phone and laptop brightness low

I'm like 99% sure the evo stream had the game running in HDR which is probably why the game's standard look is pretty bright. It still comes down to your screen though. Road rage looks pretty bright when I watch it on my monitor at work. My home screen though it doesn't look bright at all.

Isn't the Xbox One X version the only version with HDR support, PS4 and PC lacking it entirely? The EVO version was the PC version.

Pretty sure PC supports it as well.

Quote from WCCFtech who reported a week or so ago first of the different versions' differences:

"PlayStation 4 Pro enables 1080p resolution maintaining the processing speed, and the quality of stages and effects will be higher than on the base PS4. On the other hand, Xbox One X will reach a maximum resolution of 4K which is different from the base Xbox One.
It’s impossible to maintain 60fps at all times with 4K resolution, but you’ll enjoy beautiful graphics. There are some options to prioritize graphics or action so you can choose which one you prefer.
The game is not compatible with HDR on PC. That being said, Xbox One X is the only platform that allows you to enjoy HDR with this game."

I’m surprised you called me by my real name hahaha. But yeah that’s what I meant. Even with some minor faults here and there the game still looks amazing and actually feels like a sequel graphically but also gameplay wise with all the new offline content and actual gameplay of the game

Well then I dunno, but the evo stream was definitely what HDR normally looks like. Maybe the monitors they were using does HDR regardless. I know my monitor does like a fake HDR through software. I hate it though.
