    replayed Bayo 3 to put myself in the right mindset for Ninja Gaiden 4, but instead I just ended up reminding why myself why Bayo 3 is my least favorite Bayo game by a long shot :/

    the action gets broken up by too many set pieces, so the game flows like a river of bricks, never being able to maintain a good pace,

    the game REALLY pushes the new demon slave mechanic at the expense of the melee combat feeling weak across the board, and while dual welding kaijus looks cool, it would make more sense in an Astral Chain sequel, not a Bayonetta game

    fingers crossed none of this stuff shows up in NG4

    DBZF is getting yet another major overhaul and a new dlc character (ssj4 Goku Daima ver.), partly excited, partly exasperated by how long this game has been going on for, and partly wondering what heck is gonna be left for DBZF 2? Or is the plan to just update and overhaul the original game till the heat death of the universe, kinda like xenoverse 2

    tin foil hat time; I genuinely believe the reason why DBZF 2 isn't a priority is because making a current gen sequel with modern hardware isn't going to do much to improve the DBZF experience, so after porting the original to every platform they're content to just build on it's foundation, which is an interesting tactic

    we've gotten so used to fighting games being around for 3-6 years and then getting a massive update in the form of a sequel, but seems like the devs want to try something different with DBZF, and while it is commendable, as a super casual player coming back to DBZF after an overhaul is kinda annoying, because everything you remember doesn't work and you have to essentially re-learn the game all over again :/

    Since I'm in my "buying old consoles cuz current consoles ain't shit" era, ive been thinking of getting a 3DS, even though most its exclusives have been ported to the Switch or PC, there are a handful of gems that are still locked behind it that id like to get my hands on

    @Derock I say 3DS, but more than likely I'll be getting a 2DS XL, or whatever the largest 3DS I can get that is compatible with circle pad pro

    @Yuffie yeah, recently got a 360 and a box full of games for dirt cheap, modding is definitely on the table at some point but for now I'm just enjoying the old stuff

    first there was the "Angela's not sexy enough" nonsense with the SH2 remake, which if you know her backstory you understand that saying such a thing is fucking wild, and now there's the Silent hill f controversy with "fans" claiming the game to be woke because it *gasp* focuses on issues that are unique to the female experience, like okay...

    first off, SH3 already did that and it's regarded as one of the best SH games out there, so we retroactively hate SH3 now? and second can we just retire the word woke at this point? nobody is using that word correctly and everyone who complains about stuff being woke can't define it for shit :/

    It's really, really dumb. If there's one thing I miss about generation 6 or earlier, it's people having the appearance of more common sense. I essentially disregard anyone's opinion that uses the term "woke" unironically now.

    bruh why does the combat in the new Silent Hill game feel like Dark Souls? Instead of being scared of monster encounters I'm out here wanting all the smoke and I doubt that is the intended Silent Hill experience :/

    Probably a hot take on my end, but I just watched a friend finish the game from start to finish and I thought it was mid lol. Not just the combat, but the output of it.

    Then again, maybe i'm also just tired of games based on Japan for like the 200th time while they slap the Silent Hill logo on it.

    the connection to Silent Hill is so tenuous that it's hard to shake the feeling that they just slapped "Silent hill" on the game for recognition (apparently the drugs used in the cult of Silent Hill 1 originated from the town in Silent Hill f)

    Thematically it has alot of Silent Hill's dna in it's story, but hell this could have been a Fatal Frame Crimson Butterfly spinoff and no one would have batted an eye

    being able to lab Powerstone in 2025 has been such a trip, who knew this party game from my youth actually has tech, combos, OS's, and infinites which are banned in competitive lol

    I'm loving it personally. I've always been on the fence about air juggling combos in 3DFGs tbh. They're not all new ideas but the combination of them in VF feels fresh and they're daring to shake things up so it's only making me more excited for the game. Uprising Mode also sounds interesting, and there's always the Traditional Mode to fall back on if that doesn't catch on.

    never really cared for The First Descendant, but now that they're collabing with Bayonetta of all things, they now have my full attention, also its just neat to see Bayonetta rendered on an actual modern console

    Warning, it is made by Nexon so expect a grindy game where the trick on how they get you is pay-4-convenience. However, it's not a gacha and everything within the game can be earned without spending a single dollar (except collaborations for whatever reason). I'm roughly 600+ hours in the game so ask anything.

    Also another warning (which is how the trailer gets you). Might actually be a skin than character again, like how people got jebaited into thinking 2B or A2 was playable.

    That's probably Viessa or Gley rocking the Bayonetta skin, but this will be the first time Bayonetta's attire can actually be editable in different colors.

    between Duet Night Abyss and Anata, I am %100 down with games abandoning their initial gacha monetization midway through development, granted said games are still F2P live services with variable amounts of grinding, but at least I wont have to gamble

    the bar for videogame monetization is so low :/

    Videogame monetization in this day and age can be a tricky situation to properly implement if you don't want to piss off the majority of your fanbase but you also want to make good money. Probably the only truly good battle pass model that I've seen a game have (so far) is Rising's unironically. Good amount of items and skin for a character you want to use iirc only for 5 euros.

    You don't want to purchase the BP but still want to get the skin? No problem, it'll be available in our in-game shop via in-game currency later down the line, which is still insane to me that a fighting game, which usually has questionable BP's in terms of quality, has what I feel the best type of monetization strategy that I've seen in most of the newer type of videogames.

    I would've been happy if it was the original Budokai series with DB Super content. However, majority of the fans prefer the Tenkaichi formula which started the arena fighters to begin with, not Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series.

    I was actually having a conversation about someone with it. DBZ Budokai & Tenkaichi series was like the pillars of "After-school and visit friends house" moment during the PS2 days including GTA San Andreas, but trying to re-create that was almost like a lost art since said users of the past are too outgrown now to even recreate that nostalgic presence.

    This is perfect actually so I'll use myself here. Ex: I really enjoyed Chrono Trigger as a kid. Hearing the thought of a HD remaster/Octo-treatment of such a game sounds like a bliss dream.

    Now say it does happen... i'm not entirely sure if it'll ignite that same fire of young boy me vs 30 year old me now because clarity is so much different back then without immersion getting ruined.

    Spike Chunsoft in 2026: What if we re-released Danganronpa 2 for a second time, but we overhauled the graphics and added a new campaign, that's still not a new entry so we haven't broken our word technically!

    I mean i like Danganronpa as much as the next guy, but this is getting tiresome :/

    tru tru, i guess that does make DR2 the easier game to mine for extra content, Moreso than 1 and 3, but truly i'd just prefer if DR was just left alone at this point and we got more DR adjacent games that take inspiration from DR and do their own thing, stuff like Rain Code and World's End Club (not developed by Spike Chunsoft but directed by the original DR devs)

    but that's not realistic, DR is just too lucrative to leave alone so we'll probably get stuff like this every couple of years, which is fine, as long as they don't get too desperate and make a DR4, because with the way DR3 ended, how can you go back and make a "buissness as usual" sequel? it would completely undermine the entirety of DR3, and even DR 1 & 2 to an extent

    Nintendo really out here trying to win the biggest asshole in game development award huh, putting a patent on the mechanic of summoning monsters to fight for you? it's not just Palword at this point that's gonna be affected, ALOT of games are going to be screwed by this

    You know speaking of Nintendo being scummy. I'm surprised no one is talking about the fact that they are basically reselling Galaxy 1 lol. Galaxy 1 was already in 3D all stars that released years ago ; But now if people wanna play Galaxy 2, they gotta rebuy Galaxy 1 as part of the bundle. Its just extra padding so they have an excuse to charge $60-70 for this. Its pretty messed up.

    dam, i wasn't even aware of that was going on with galaxy, I was probably too busy malding over the $80 kirby game at the time, and I like kirby, but 80$ for a port from 2022 that's barely an upgrade with 3 extra hours of content? absolutely not

    now that I have a working 360 I plan on doing a vanilla Ninja Gaiden 3 playthrough, mainly to see if 1, the game is as bad as I remember or was I just blinded by my disdain towards Hayashi, and 2, to see if I can beat it's Master Ninja mode w/o abusing the shit out of the SoB

    Virtua Fighter 5/FS/US character usage statistics always make me chuckle, top 3 is mostly Jacky, Akira, Sarah, dead last is always Taka, and everyone else is stuck between 2-6% usage

    But yeah, despite Pai being one of the more recognizable VF characters, her popularity fluctuates greatly, she's either in the middle of the pack in terms of usage or is in 4th place trailing behind Jacky, Akira, and Sarah

    @inochinagi Not to get bogged down with the science of the panty shot (my goodness what am I saying) but imo if a character moves in such a way that their underwear gets exposed, that's a panty shot, camera zoom or not, however there are layers to it, DOA has the natural panty shot, i.e underwear getting exposed 'cause that's just how the clothing physics would work in that scenario

    and then there's the cringe anime panty shot that we've all seen a million times in anime, in which there's some contrivance that leads to a skirt lift, the character gets embarrassed, the camera zooms in and pans up slowly to show off the underwear in excruciating detail, y'know, the type of thing can make even the most open minded anime fan roll their eyes

    although I guess it's not always cringe, like im not gonna watch Agent Aika and be like "ew, wth is this perversion" like the whole point of that show is fanservice + action girls, but there are instances where it can come off as egregious, thankfully that's not the case with DOA, it just fits in so naturally I assume most DOA players barely register it mentally
