As for the criticisms, I kind of get them, or at least a version of them that doesn't really get articulated. Bear with me, here. Mortal Kombat is not some enduring legacy of sophisticated, high-brow art, as much as their pretentious story modes would want you to believe. Mortal Kombat was, from it's inception, the manifestation of a teenage boy's dream game, and it had pretty much everything you'd expect, from half-naked, sexy-muscular men to half-naked, sexy-muscular women killing one another in comical fashion with ridiculous set pieces and hilariously contrived violence. This is not a diss, either. At the end of the day, everyone has those irrational elements of their character; things they just "like," and as long as everyone's upfront about it, I don't get the big deal. These ridiculous fatalities and X-ray moves (or whatever they call them now) are not evolving into a more "civilized" or sensible age. It's still just glorified porn for the player bases' inner 13 year-old sensibilities.

So now, you still have half-naked men in peak physical condition as well as the hyper-violence, but for some reason women have to be all covered in their default costumes. Why? Like, you don't have to show a lot of skin or have giant tits. You just gotta look cool. So what've we got for Kitana? Well, she's a pseudo-Asian leading woman who used to show a lot of skin, but whose default costume is now a black-and-blue skin-tight get-up that someone thinks they can pass off as not being sexualized. And it's really fucking boring. Sounds kinda familiar.

So yeah, I'm not necessarily saying "We need more sexy all the time!" Scarlet's default costume looks way better than her previous one, for example, despite being for more "conservative." But it does feel like NRS sometimes limits their design potential in an effort to pander to a certain political agenda for brownie points, and that's disappointing. It's not devastating to me, personally, since there are a lot of other problems with the game that need to be addressed before I'd consider it their greatest offense, but it is dumb, and I don't feel like it's fair to dismiss certain critiques of the art direction by hiding behind the graphics, which are admittedly quite impressive.

I never understood the obsession with Mileena, Sindel will always be THAT bitch.

Mileena eats people. Sindel is just THAT bitch that got owned by my boi, Nightwolf.

I’m far from alone on this, though I thought there would be considerably less controversy on a Dead or Alive site, given the struggle to save that game and everything.

Unfortunately, people can’t see beyond the base issue. They seriously think I’m that outraged about some pixelated tits.
For some reason they have not recognized the widespread movement to censor video games and force a feminist perspective on unwilling gamers. Senran Kagura, Devil May Cry, SFV, and a litany of others have been affected, apparently under the radar for some.
One would think, in 2019, that the long term consequences of censorship, even self-censorship, especially of a sexual nature, would be common knowledge.
Someone already used the “Real Women” argument. When they end up putting an obese character in the game in a non comical fashion, remember this post lol. She won’t be covered up though, at least.

When DOA6 was supposed to be censored, we raised hell, and in the end got a true DOA game.

I’m simply asking for developers to put gamers above politics.
Maybe something is different with the new generation of players.

Actually... no, we aren’t frightened of boobs, we just dislike people who will trashtalk a game just bc the females ain’t showing much skin. We all here are thirsty about the characters (fuck, I literally talk about Bayman and Leon’s tiddies A LOT), but we ain’t gonna go ape shit because some character gets a costume that’s not revealing and go crying over “muh sjws ruining everything” when half of the time sjws don’t give a fuck about games lol. And eye candy it’s still not our focus anyway.

And yes, this is a DOA site, so what? We don’t talk about the characters’ boobs 24/7, this is a fighting game first and foremost, so our focus is the GAME MECHANICS, not how much tiddy Kasumi is showing in her newest DLC costume.

If you want to reply to multiple users, use “quote” instead of “reply”. That way, you can fit multiple replies in one. Also, it’s not needed to edit the same post once they reply, double posting is when you post a message two times in a row. Once someone else posts, you can just post a new message.

Look, I'm just gonna put it this way, nobody is chastising you for liking boobs and nobody is "scared" of boobs. You're just poking the hornets nest with this whole " female characters aren't sexy therefore I can't buy this trash" thing you have going on.

We were tired of that BS with DOA6(which was never censored to begin with the game at launch is literally the same game at reveal), we don't need it for MK11 which has been toning down the awful "sexy" outfits since X.

As far as DOA is concerned, their language was full on submission before we started raising hell. I don’t know for certain what they were planning beforehand, but I’m skeptical that all those statements about making the game PC were just idle comments. They came from the main developer of the game!

And some of the anti-fanservice people ARE skeered of tits (I’m of the ain’t skeered position lol) have you seen EVO? That atrocity when those sissies panicked because some Japanese chicks shook their tits for a second? They fucked over DOA with that.

And everyone has their opinion, but MK9 has the greatest female costumes of all time, followed by DOA, and then Skullgirls. To me, that is. I don’t speak for anyone else.

The last thing I will say at least tonight, if not permanently on this is that it’s NRS ignoring us completely that is the biggest issue. . I wouldn’t mind if the main costumes were like they are. I think they are ugly af, but whatever. Kasumi’s bodysuit in DOA6 was ugly to me, but I’m fine with it in Story Mode. However, they kept the original costume as an option outside story mode, because they don’t hate their own fans, and aren’t smug leftists. Or if only one of six costumes was traditional that’s be fine, or if they were in a dlc you had to pay $30 for. I have no interest in forcing anyone to do anything. I’m not an SJW. If people think a costume is sexist, I get no pleasure forcing people to use it.

Just one sexy suit for Jade, Kitana, Mileena. Skarlet too, if possible. And maybe a costume like Cassie’s endurance costume, and Jacqui’s Basic Training costume. The latter two are actually “revealing” now smh. The entire pack could cost $19.99. Or $29.99.

But even that is morally repugnant to them, which I find morally repugnant myself, hence my no buy stance. Straight men and gay/bi women are just out of luck with those kind of “core values,” and that’s a d*** move if there ever was one. One of the best conversations I have had on this was with a lesbian gamer who was more outraged than I am.

I just hit the "reply" button on a post I wish to quote/respond to, and then scroll back up and hit the "reply" button again on the next post I wish to respond to. It will add each to the message field below, and you can edit them there, put text in-between each quote, or do whatever stylistically you want from there.

Alternatively, you can use the "Quote" button at the button of each posts to create a sort of multi-quote queue, but I find that system less intuitive.
