Don't disagree yeah, but there have been been evidence with such situations with why it gets flak in the first place. It's both wrong and wrong sort of thing. I don't disagree with you, but I can't really disagree with the other side of the flak either, it's tough for DOA overall.

No problems with Rachel here, but Leon is pretty legit though. DOA doesn't get characters like him so it's pretty rare, and unfortunately Diego was a failed attempt to fix that.

You all can keep bringing him up here but it won't change the fact that he's not coming back anytime before a rerelease :p.

We already know Momiji is coming back first followed by Rachell in December. I imagine the earliest possible time for him to be confirmed is March of next yearif they announce DOA6 Ultimate.

The thing is, they aren't even trying it. Just look at the story mode, even to legacy characters, nothing in that story is relevant to anything. They don't even care about legacy characters.

They only make new characters based in the most stereotypical market by region research, then they choose a random martial art style for these characters and that's all. This is happening even since DOA5.

What's Mila personality?, being a Bass fangirl and really cheerful. That's all. She already meet Bass, so, what now?, most likely she will be like Hitomi since DOA5, a joke character that will only show to say a few random things and then she will lose.

Rig is Buzz Lightyear. Press button 1 for nice bro mode and press button 2 for mid boss mode. That's all.
What are his true emotions?, Internal fighting?. We know nothing about his past, not like they care or even have a idea about it.

Same with Marie Rose. Why is she so loyal to Helena?, how did they meet?. Literally zero backstory, you have to believe she was always there and she cares so much about Helena because why not.

Honoka the same stuff. Who is her mother?, It was her another Raidou victim?, what does Honoka know about her father?.
Team Ninja: who cares.

Nyotengu is a really fun one. Ryu defeats her and don't kill her because she is too kawaii to be evil. Then she just goes to have fun trolling Hitomi/Leifang/Brad/Eliot and in the end of the day she appears in DOA tournament, people felt in love with her not asking themselves what a tengu is and if she can be evil and well, who knows, maybe Nyotengu will be next Japan top idol.

Raidou, the fearsome final boss. Everyone fears his return, because he's so strong and he can do so many evil things, right?.
But then he dies before he can do a shit. You have me waiting almost two fuc*ing hours just for nothing. For a dude that just laugh a few times and then dies at the departure from the school.
Someone at Team Ninja thought that a final boss that accomplish literally nothing would be really popular.

Phase 4 ... oh boy, this one is the best one. Do you remember her personality and her cool sword at DOA5 story mode beginning?, because TN doesn't, not even Bayman.
From Donovan final weapon to just a Saibaman in mass production that ninjas can defeat as nothing.
Just great.

It’s true that they have been hit or miss at best with new characters for a while. You can extend that back to 4 actually: Eliot is just a guy who gets annoyed by Brad and seems to be there to appeal to female fans. Kokoro had no story until they awkwardly put in the melodrama about her and Helena like a second rate soap opera.

I think it’s no surprise they doubled down on lolis when you consider the success they had with the popularity of Marie and Honoka, regardless of what we may think of them. The problem stems from two things I think: they insist on more dramatic stories with interpersonal drama taking the forefront, but haven’t been willing to put in the hard work to make us care enough to make that work.

In my opinion Nyotengu has been one of the more successful characters (as a character, ignoring her stolen moveset), because she leans into the comedic and parodic mood that fits better with the DOA aesthetics of over the top attractive people fighting for really very little reason at all accompanied by Aerosmith music. I’ve seen a lot of people cite her trolling exploits as the best, or at least the most fun parts of the story probably for this reason.

The only new character in a while who has had the hard work put into a backstory is NiCO, who clearly was the newcomer in 6 they cared about. And in fact I even like NiCO in spite of everything. But what she shows about their story direction moving forward isn’t looking very compatible with the more light-hearted mood I think would be more successful for them.

And it goes without saying that none of this matters if they can’t make their new characters fun to play and well crafted move-wise: funnily enough, they’ve done okay with Kula, despite the ice breath issues, and I think they are still capable of improving on the decent bases they already have for Momiji and Rachel. But Diego and NiCO are both highly flawed in this respect. Diego is braindead and NiCO started off way too strong.

Their social media strategy, relying on the world tour and dlc, has been unsuccessful, but hopefully the “new information” is something worth getting hype over and they can build on the goodwill that the ticket system not being too greedy and the free outfits got them.

ok flop but we will keep asking for him cause that’s how they will realize we want him. it was the way he got into DOA5U. and the way momiji and supposedly rachel are coming back. so yea, it does in fact change a lot to ask for something. especially with DOA6 and Shimbori, a game that flopped precisely because they listened to the players quite TOO much to the point they merged what the casuals asked for with what the actual players asked for and ended up in the mess we know lmao. if you hate to see that the men of this franchise have fans, then too bad for you. leon is coming, PERIOD!!

Nope its not becuase they listened to the Fans (casual) ............its becuase the asian market os doing great with doapussy vacation and they tryny did it that way and forgot about DOA was and should be.
The shame about what went wrong can be found in doa 5 and its DLC Legacy . the ones who bought all the crappy DLC and spent the money in it.

The Story itself wasn t too bad in 5 but could be better .


If they just now realize how important it is not only for online player base and tournament stuff but also for a real casual player like me , to implement a Arcade MOde with cutscenes to get to now the characters better and get deeper into a real good story where we can relie to .With Endings ect ...like it was damn

And it was beautiful and we ALL fell in Love .its more important than ever to keep Games alive through telling a Story . So easy -

Let's not forget they also listened too much to people that felt ashamed of DOA5. That's what caused the initial shitstorm due the "toning down" 999IQ marketing pushing.

This is literally IT. Too bad they seem to have forgotten the whole "Reveal Momiji *insert shitty MMD video of Momiji dancing SOLO by Jennie on a bikini*" shit going on days before (and after) DOA6 was released... but we DIDN'T!!!!

All you Leon fans are all so sensitive :rolleyes: I never once said anything about him not coming back or that he should NOT, i just said that he's a not a priority as much as female characters like Momiji and Rachel. I have mentioned this almost every time I replied abot Leon's return.

I have said as many times before (almost as much as all of you keep whining about his absence), I KNOW HE WILL RETURN but only AFTER those two. You all just have to be patient. Leon will be back along with Ein and Gen Fu.

Ironically I was one of the few people who requested her back in DOA5 vanilla actually lol. I pushed for her, Leon, and Brad Burns from VF (turned out to be Jacky), but after seeing how generic her movekit looked and her intro/outros I was like "holy, what was I thinking? I expected something better than this where it actually looked cool (as in Hayabusa cool) but guess not". It's a literal houseplant that sits in the corner. it's just there, but apparently lots of people deemed it special because it's cute but hey, it is what it is.

Course don't let it some peopel get to you though lol, it was kinda no surprise from a random user who contributed absolutely nothing to the series.

In term of in game model,Leon has the same body type as Bayman so at least he got a better chance to comeback unlike Genfu
Same case happened in DOA5U/LR back then with Jacky(Akira) ,Ein(Hayate),Rachel(Tina) ,Momiji and Nyotengu (Lei Fang) Raidou (Bass)

Speaking about guest characters,I think KT is pretty lucky with Mai and Kula case since SNK is pretty lax in term of guest characters.It seems SNK saw guest characters as a way to promote their brand.
In this gen we already got
1/Terry in low budget game like Fighting Ex Layer and freaking Smash Ultimate
2/Iori Yagami in 2d game like Million Arthur: Arcana Blood
3/Geese Howard in Tekken 7
4/Haomaru coming soon to SC6

SO if more guest characters coming to DOA6,I think more SNK characters seems plausible if it is gonna happens
