We might not get a male character after Ayato up until the Sumeru patch, since next patch's going to be Yelan with 4-star Kuki Shinobu (either phase 1 or 2 for the latter), then there are rumors about 2.8 being a full rerun patch. Tbh, the majority of the playable characters are going to be female around the end of the game, pretty sure that the other 5 archons are all females as well.

that would be so lame if all the other archons were waifus, but that mostly likely will be the case

we already know the Sumeru and Sneznaya archons are waifus, which just leaves us with Fontain and Natlan, which Dainslief has talked about he's refered to both of them as "she", so i guess it's waifu archon impact for the next 5 years lol

The Natlan archon's name is Murata, so she'll most likely end up looking like an archon version of Murata Himeko from Honkai, as for the hydro archon, there's a chance that a specific character in Honkai can become an "archon" relatively soon (there are a few things water related to her ever since her first battlesuit came out), then her Genshin version has a high chance of being the hydro archon.
imagine complaining about 5pp into throw being "fake" and "online only" when your ass is out here doing 6p into throw on neutral hit, counter hit and block...the nerve of some ppl -_-
BOTW2 is getting delayed..AGAIN! oh well, if they honestly feel like they need another year to work on it then screw it, no need to put out a rushed product

My little brother said the same damn thing, bomb and now I'm convinced it's the truth. Elden Ring is just such a fantastic game that people are going to have to go back to the drawing board if they want to make a game as good and as successful as Elden Ring. I didn't bother with the Soul type games other than Nioh and now I'm debating whether or not I play past Soul games.

could be a side effect of being in a post Elden Ring world, who knows lol, but I do remember that the OG Breath of the Wild suffered from multiple delays as well, and look how that turned out, ended up being one of the best Zelda games (maybe even one the best open world games) ever, so if that extra time in the oven is what's needed for greatness then shoo, they can take all the time they need

plus there's too many games comming out anyway, so this is a much welcome delay lol
Phatom Breaker is one of the few games i've played in recent memory that REALLY punishes you for using normal block, not only is the chip damage mad high, not only does your guard gauge fill up quickly, but it seems like everything outside of DP's and supers are safe if blocked normally

I'm guessing this is to counter balance the fact that you can just block by returning the stick to neutral (which makes dealing with cross up insultingly easy), so at the cost of making blocking trivial they also made it not something you want to rely on

I like it, it forces you to be active on defense and use the plethora of universal defensive techniques (parry, reflection, protection, guardpoints, etc)
anyone else remember this gem from the early 2000's
shit just popped in my head after all this time and I can't stop listening to it lol
Phantom Breakers groove system is great (and I wish more fighting games did stuff like it) but it makes the all too common mistake of making 1 groove that's clearly better than the others, thus giving you no reason to explore the other grooves at all :/

it kinda does: for most characters quick style (the meta groove) is the uncontested best fit, but there are certain characters who would opt for hard style or omnia style (the other grooves)

Hard style gives you access to an exclusive move that varies from character to character, said move can improve your zoning capabilities, give you an extra mix up option, or can be used for better pressure

Omnia style gives you access to a homing full screen 1 button super move that you can convert off of, so it's useful for slow short ranged characters who need something to threaten with while getting zoned out

all that said, I still think Quick style will be the dominant style for players moving forward

it's just too useful, you can convert off any hit and it does more dmg than hard style, which is supposed to be the dedicated big damage groove, all at the expense of slightly lower health and less defensive mechanics, but who need defense when you can just kill your opponent off of everything lol
ppl think "My Dress-Up Darling" is a romantic comedy anime, naw son, that shit is some high fantasy

I mean, pretty much every anime where the girl falls for the loser MC is a high fantasy lol. That shit doesn't happen in real life.

you say that, but honestly alot of the side and background characters react the main couple in a very realistic way, like, they these are the conversations that would happen if Gojo and Marin existed in the real world, which gives the show a very grounded feel, which is nice

it only turns into Lord of the Rings when it focuses on the main couple, and even the show it'self will call out how absurd it is, so I give it points for being self aware, most anime that pull this shit would act like this type of thing is 100% normal

p.s the only "Hot girl falls for loser MC" anime that actually made sense was B gata H kei, loved that show
Looks like along with a visual redesign, Testament also got his gameplay redesigned, but he's still an Arakune style trap based character so I'm willing to give him a shot
DNF update trailer was nice but i'll be 1000% honest, I forgot that game even existed up until yesterday :/
Testament being brought to Strive is giving alot of GG oldheads PTSD right now lol

The unreactable overheads, the invincible poisonous traps, that shit will scar you for life

Eh? Gotta speak up its too loud! All I can hear is an exe beasto and grave digger spam! Its making me deaf atm! Testament is a sunglass away from an Ozzy Osbourne reference.
so they're adding OTG's, multiple juggle states, and restands into SFV; what's weird about that is that all those things existed in SFV in the pre-release footage but they removed them when the game launched, and now 6 years later they're putting them back in? weird...

Still awaiting for busted Chun-Li from the alpha build of SFV with the Tenshokyaku, double Kikoken, some of her SF4 commands and the new Juri move.

V trigger that lasts the whole round, Ryu's fireball that hit 2 times and was plus on block and could guard break w/o charge, yeah that first build was busted af

always worrying when a franchise you like goes dormant for a few years and comes back with a gacha title, at that point you're just hoping that they're building funds and exposure for the next real game and they're not content to just sell Jpegs for ludicrous amounts of money :/
welp, Phatom Breaker Omnia finally got released, and it sure does feel like a fighting game that was made in 2010 i.e dated looking sprites, absolutely 0 tutorialization, and alot of jank

    Camel with 2 thumbs
if you can get over that it's a blast to play, but im a sucker for early 2000's jank anime fighters so my opinion is biased af lol
TMNT Tournament Fighters being ported to modern hardware with online capabilities? maybe this'll pave the way for other SNES fighters that ppl still play to get ported, like Ranma Hard Battle or Sailor Moon S, it's doubtful but a man can dream

Hot Take: 6 buttons for fighting games is too dam many

I agree. In SF & KI having 6 attack buttons is annoying as hell because it only leaves two other buttons for macros (which is basically just Triple P & Triple K in SFV for instance). I highly appreciate how KOF and Anime fighters just have 4 primary attack buttons (which can be just mapped to your 4 primary buttons). 3D fighters have it right with only 3 or 4 main buttons too. Allows for a lot more flexibility.

actually now that i've thought about it a bit, having 6 buttons isn't the issue, it's having 6 ATTACK buttons that grinds my gear, cause I play MK and technically it is a 6 button fighter, but only 4 of your buttons are for attacks, the other 2 are relegated to block and stance flip (which you rarely use outside of inputting X-rays/Fatal Blow)

Even other games I play like AH3 and Nitroplus Blasterz have 5 button layouts, but not ALL of those buttons are for offense, some are for defensive techniques, movement options, or a highly situational attack, so yeah, I don't have have beef with 6 button layouts, it's just when every single one of those 6 buttons is an attack is when my face goes :/
