    Recently replayed the original Catherine game (not Full Body), and holy cow they really try to make Katherine look like she's some unreasonable bitch when in reality she's just a woman with a pregnancy scare who wants her 31-year old man child of a boyfriend to step up for once in his life

    if i recall Full Body does a much better job of portraying her beyond the frumpy girlfriend stereotype but dam, it was quite the experience to go back and see how it all started

    @Yuffie Fullbody has a whole new love interest for Vincent to pursue, it has new endings for everyone, several story changes, and a bunch of new game modes for single player and multiplayer

    it is a rough time to be a Nintendo CC; these ppl have to sit in front their audiences with a pained smile and tell them "y'see, Nintendo had no choice but to make the new Switch $500, they worked reeeeally hard on this console and us as loyal Nintendo fans should reward them with our wallets!" mf plz

    I mean, we're all dunking on Nintendo now, but when the PS6 and the NextBox get released and they're both $1000 each, we wont be caught off guard, hell we might even look back at the Switch 2 and be all "y'know a $500 console doesn't sound so bad!"

    PS5 Pro is already $1000+, definitely in Canada at least.

    But yeah, as much as I hate the higher price of Switch 2 (can't get it on launch), I do have to wonder about how everyone was crying for Nintendo to finally boost their power sufficiently. People laughed at me when I suggested Switch 2 might have 4K output. Now it does, but power comes at a cost. No more power complaints, now cost complaints instead, lol.

    Think Nintendo's net structure wasn't always the greatest. I remember HungryBox a while back mentioned that hosting Smash Ult online tournaments was always a hassle with not only wifi but also just flat out random disconnects even with a ethernet adapter that Nintendo never bothered to address with games.

    It was somewhat equivalent to PSN's mid-worse days of netplay (least what I heard). So combine that with FromSoft's net might be a rough recipe for a consistent game.

    Not sure how much Nintendo would improve on that + Duskblood won't be for another year so there's that I guess.

    If they're building this game from ground up and designing it primarily for pvp i'd LIKE to believe that Fromsoft wouldn't use that same old spaghetti netcode they've been rocking since freaking DS1, but anything is possible these days

    Aa for Nintendo fingers crossed that the Switch 2's online infrastructure is more stable than a macaroni tower

    you know what 3D fighter sub genre needs to come back? Boxing games, and im not talking about that realistic sport sim nonsense they shove down our throats, im talking 'bout something arcade-like, unfiltered, and fun, like the Ready 2 Rumble games, i would kill for a modern version

    Yeah the tech demo collection for Switch 2 looks so crappy and you even have to pay to download it. Crazy to think Wii Sports was so much better in showing off the console tech while being fun and was also free with every Wii.

    Switch 2 Sports should have been a no-brainer.

    And Switch 2 comes with an ethernet port, so no excuse for great online matches.

    With Emma Frost, Marvel Rivals has released their 4th character who is a hot blonde chick wearing a white and blue jumpsuit (although hers is more of a leotard), not that i'm complaining, she looks hot as hell, I just hope this isn't gonna be a pattern in the long term

    $80+ for physical Switch 2 games? Oof that hurts, the only silver lining is that Nintendo MOSTLY doesn't do post release DLC and battle passes so you'll pay for the game once and be done with it, but still...

    MK1 has been out for almost 2 years, and I'm just now learning that Madame Bo is the Bo Rai Cho of the new timeline, sounds obvious when you write it out but until this latest update came out it was not obvious at all :/

    I get what you mean, DOA got lambasted by the public for having jiggle physics and skimpy costumes back in the late 90's early 2000's, but fast forward to today, every fighting game has swimsuit DLC and fetish costumes, every fighting game has jiggle physics, so what made DOA stand out is pretty much normal for fighting games

    that's why I say DOA's fanservice by comparison to the modern-day standard of fanservice is weak, and I like it like that, it's present, it's there, the game doesn't hyperfocus on it but it's available for those who wish to enjoy, which make it a lot more balanced than the previously mentioned titles

    DOA was always not even the most fanservicey/ecchi FG series (i.e. with Soul Calibur existing), it just acted like or was treated like it was. Well, arguably it was when DOA1 came out at least, at least among 3D fighters. I havent played those game so I dont know if they can compete with DOA5's microkinis, but Oneechanbara had basically fruit pasties.

    of course the second I try to record footage for a DOA2 video my JP ver. of DOA2 stops working, which means I may have to use vanilla DOA2 which has less characters, less stages, incomplete move sets and a few broken moves, and not broken in the good way :/

    Which part of the reason to be a Waifu Game has everything to do with DOAXVV being very profitable, plus the game was cheaper to make, and benefitted KT's business practices with their Microtransactions (which could easily cost a Player for 1 outfit $840 Singapore Dollars).

    KT/TN would put blame on the FGC Community for DOA6 bad reputation, these people don't benefit KT's business practice. I as someone who enjoys DOA would rather have a game with low budget/resources with all the efforts went into Fanservice features, with prices being outrageously expensive in game price & monetization so long as I get a successor to DOA5LR & DOAXVV.

    people always give Haruno Sakura shit for being a terribly written female character, but when you actually go back read Naruto, you realize that 98% of Kishimoto's female characters are terribly written, Sakura's just the one that gets the most screen time

    Because of the following: 1) Sasuke was all over the place and he was holding about 75% of the entire story because of the Uchihas, 2) fans were goo-goo gaa-gaa-ing over Hinata when she was 10x worse but somehow gets a pass because she loves Naruto and fucks up the pairings and 3) because it's shonen. Women doesn't matter, unless they are the MAIN character.

    I wouldn't say that Hinata is 10x worst, yes she's just as fundamentally flawed as Sakura is in terms of writing (and arguably worst in some aspects) but Hinata gets a pass by fans because she's a much more appealing character; she's cute, she's demure, she's a classic yamato nadeshiko, so because of all that fans are way less harsh on Hinata despite her atrocious writing

    meanwhile Sakura is a brutish, big headed tomboy type who's hard to like AND terribly written, so she was screwed from the get-go, but like you said, this is shonen, shonen is not carried by it's ability to portray women well, as long as they look cute and are somewhat likeable most readers will not care if they are ineptly mishandled by the writer

    There's such a thing as clearing one's backlog? That should straight up put you in legendary status! Jokes aside that free time that you get from not having to complete your backlog should be liberating (unless if you're too busy with work and/or other stuff normally from a day to day basis).

    to be fair, I have been methodically working on this since last summer, so almost a year now; playing games with the intention of finishing them, spending less time on forever games that don't end, combining that with slowing down on game purchases and bam, cleared
