    now that I have a working 360 I plan on doing a vanilla Ninja Gaiden 3 playthrough, mainly to see if 1, the game is as bad as I remember or was I just blinded by my disdain towards Hayashi, and 2, to see if I can beat it's Master Ninja mode w/o abusing the shit out of the SoB

    Virtua Fighter 5/FS/US character usage statistics always make me chuckle, top 3 is mostly Jacky, Akira, Sarah, dead last is always Taka, and everyone else is stuck between 2-6% usage

    What about Pai? 4th? That would match exactly with the VF guests in DOA then, lol.

    I've mained Sarah until now (except for the very first few days I ever played VF4, when I focused on Lion) but I've been thinking of switching to Vanessa.

    Vanessa is so much fun, whether or not she's good i couldn't tell ya

    And now that I'm on my mid 2000's retro arc, I been feelin' the need for some Vf4:evo

    But yeah, despite Pai being one of the more recognizable VF characters, her popularity fluctuates greatly, she's either in the middle of the pack in terms of usage or is in 4th place trailing behind Jacky, Akira, and Sarah

    @inochinagi Not to get bogged down with the science of the panty shot (my goodness what am I saying) but imo if a character moves in such a way that their underwear gets exposed, that's a panty shot, camera zoom or not, however there are layers to it, DOA has the natural panty shot, i.e underwear getting exposed 'cause that's just how the clothing physics would work in that scenario

    and then there's the cringe anime panty shot that we've all seen a million times in anime, in which there's some contrivance that leads to a skirt lift, the character gets embarrassed, the camera zooms in and pans up slowly to show off the underwear in excruciating detail, y'know, the type of thing can make even the most open minded anime fan roll their eyes

    although I guess it's not always cringe, like im not gonna watch Agent Aika and be like "ew, wth is this perversion" like the whole point of that show is fanservice + action girls, but there are instances where it can come off as egregious, thankfully that's not the case with DOA, it just fits in so naturally I assume most DOA players barely register it mentally

    TBH. If you put NG4, the new Onimusha, and Sushi Ghosts: Gohtee side by side; its like comparing menu items from Wendys, Burger King, and Mcdonalds. Sure they taste different but at the end of the day they are just burgers. X.x

    any here ever watch an anime called Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer? it's not great but it was directed by Masami Obari, same guy who directed/designed the Fatal Fury film trilogy, so the whole time you're watching it feels like your seeing an anime take place in an alternate universe South Town lol

    true, there was some truly out of left field incest going on, it's one thing when it was happening on the bad guys side with the sibling student council members (but it did lead to a very interesting transformation, looked like a proto darling and the fraxxx type design) but we get into Kyosuke and his sis and....it's not explicit, but signs point to his love for his sis being more than just brotherly :/

    Its a future were approaching at a rapid pace, especially age verification program requiring Driver's License, Biometric Digital ID, & Facial Scan in the name of protecting the children.

    seriously considering buying a 360 in the near future, 1 because it's one of the few consoles that has exclusives that I still care to play, 2 it backwards compatible with OG Xbox which also has exclusives I still care to play

    crazy to think we're reaching the end of this console generation, feels like the PS5 and Series X just came out not too long ago, or maybe my ass is just getting old lol

    Well, the PS5 for like the first two years was sold mostly by scalpers since there was a shortage of iirc chips due to various reasons so a limited amount of copies were made early on (took a long time for me to see one in any electronics-oriented shop/market where I live) since they bought it up and sold it mostly for double the original price (at least in my country).

    Even after that, its price wasn't exactly cheap, most people were just fine with their completely functional PS4's but time doesn't lie, it has been 5 years since the release of PS5, or will be around November of this year, as for eckbock, even though from a performance standpoint their current gen consoles are great, even amazing, this generation for them pretty much came and went.

    Watched the new Virtua Fighter teaser, and I have to admit,, my biggest fear of supers and EX moves being added to VF have been largely assuaged, I am curious about what the red cracks on the character models is supposed to mean though, hopefully we get info during TGS

    Not sure about the red cracks thing. Personal theory is locational damage. ie you hit a certain area continually until it causes a special stagger, which the red cracks signify.

    Mechanic might be neat, but may or may not get used to the effect...

    I see pretty much everyone guessing it's a locational multiplier/weakpoint or something, or a place that becomes temporarily unblockable.

    interesting theories, I was thinking it was some sort of guard break mechanic to punish players for being overly defensive, which is odd cause Virtua Fighter is already a game where defense is very active so specifically punishing passive defense seems weird, but that's just my speculation

    Just saw the Lucy gameplay trailer for GG. She looks dope actually.

    Also she literally takes the UI from the Cyberpunk game for one of the attacks which is clever. I might actually watch GG tournaments now and root for anyone that plays that character.

    We truly are living in bizzaro world, Microsoft increased the price of their 5 year old console, now Nintendo is increasing the price of their 8 year old console, what's next? Sony increasing the price of the PS4?

    Gaming is about to be even more heavily expensive hobby in the future. Obviously expensive now, but it'll reach a point of super premium lol. Gacha is already flooding it worse as is.

    GTA6 about to be $100.

    Gaming has gotten expensive for a long time now, its just that there was a larger spectrum of options before from cheaper indies to mid-cost AAs to more costly AAAs. Nintendo used to have easily the more affordable console options. But now It seems more games are gonna shift into the higher price ranges.

    honestly it's seems like if you want to keep your gaming habits up without breaking the bank, now's the time to get into older consoles with games you already know you like plus a library of undiscovered gems to keep you occupied at a reasonable price

    or just sale the seven seas if you know what I mean lol

    Okay, this game is alot cooler than I initially thought, primarily because it's learning from the mistakes of previous tag fighters
    my only gripe is that autocombos are present, but at this point I can live with that

    You know I'll take this over a new blazblue. Although Blazblue will always be the goat. I'm really excited to see the combo potential in this game. The mechanics seem solid.

    Also, kinda wild to realize that while Atelier has crossed over into DOA before, DOA hasn't crossed over into Atelier afaik... yet Tekken now has. Although it kinda feels like trolling when Heihachi is the only character to be part of it, lol.

    Nen Impact has been getting raked over the coals by mainstream FGC, as it should, but it has brought together lovers of Kusoge from multiple smaller fighting gaming communities so I am glad for that, fingers crossed it's issues get addressed so people can actually recommend this game without citing multiple caveats

    For a game with the word "impact" on the title, Nen Impact seems to lack it in spades, the hits just feel so soft and lofty :/

    Recently been learning how to play Phase 4, and it certainly has been a breath fresh of air, but I swear half the battle is just learning the timing of her teleport cancels, Im sure with experience that'll get easier but sheesh, Phase 4 players y'all have my respect

    My ex-bf had her down. He was honestly more tournament ready than I ever was. Phase 4 was a difficult character to use. When you get her to a good point show us some matches! I'm vgmkyle on Steam if you ever want to play there.
