    So, Yakumo and Ryu, I wonder if their relationship will start off as antagonistic but then they become friendly rivals by the end of the Ninja Gaiden 4, that would be such a new and novel concept for Platinum Games :eek:

    "Ninja Gaiden developed by Platimun Games...I actually like platinum games and I still don't like the idea :/" I said this 3 years ago on this very website, and now that this has eerily become a reality, I still have my reservations, but im not as down on the idea as I was back in 2022

    on the other hand, I feel like Platinum Games design philosophy and what Ninja Gaiden is don't really mesh well, so the result is going to be a standard Platinum Games game, but with a NG coat of paint on it, which frankly sounds better than 98% of what's out there, I just fear that NG's identity and feel might get lost in the shuffle, but i'll wait and see before I pass that judgement

    While PlatinumGames isn't in its best form in this day and age and as you said, the gameplay of the games the team developed makes me think that working on Ninja Gaiden won't work out insanely well, Bloober, a team that wasn't known for their smash hits were the ones who developed the Silent Hill 2 remake, so, there's still a chance that NG4 will be really good and PlatGames comes back on the map as a result.

    Some of Platinum Games key members left so it's pretty understandable to be skeptical.

    Definitely still better than nothing in my opinion.

    anyone here remember when VF5 (vanilla) had personalized intros that were super flashy and had your characters doing weird and funny gestures in customizable outfits? been searching the internet for footage of this and I've found nothing, but I know this was a real thing :/

    "if you're not hype for Ragebound then you're a not real NG fan, you're just a 3D era fanboy" is a strangely common take i've been seeing; I think the lack of hype stems more from the fact that we haven't had a new mainline NG game in 13 years and ppl were expecting something more substantial after all this time :/

    So far I'm not even sure if it'd satisfy the 2D era NG itch... it just looks way more like other indie NG-inspired games. If they had come out with a true NG4 rather than an outsourced spinoff, 2D or 3D, that would have been way more hype. But as far 13 years since the last 3D NG, I don't think Ragebound's development would have any bearing on the development of a new game from TN anyways.

    Seeing how Capcom did Terry dirty in SF6 makes me appreciate how TN has 0 problems with making guest characters OP, yeah we've gotten some duds like Nao and Tamaki, but Spartan and the VF characters? oh my guudness...

    oh I wasn't referencing any particular doujin fighter, I was just referencing the general struggle getting doujin fighters to run properly

    although the latest doujin fighter I've played is Haruhi Grappler which certainly is not ass, although it was a bitch to get up and running lol

    As wild as they were, Ocean had some peak 90s English dubs, with a few that still hold up to this very day such as Ranma 1/2 and Galaxy Express 999.

    first 4 seasons of the Ranma dub are top notch, but I can't watch it after that, not because the quality gets bad but because after S4 they got Richard Cox to do Ranma's voice and no joke manz is just doing his Inuyasha voice for Ranma and it is so distracting to the point where I have to swap languages

    Never watched Galaxy Express so I can;t comment on it, looks cool though

    Say what you will about that 90s Canada-based anime dubbing from Ocean and DiC, despite the silly accents for some characters and some characters sounding older than they should and the censorship/changes in the dialogue, I can't help but love..... oh damn, I just heard it :O I never heard it before until now... XD lmao.

    man, I picked the worst time to get back into DBZF, cause now that all the casuals have left to play Sparking Zero, only the hardcore enthusiasts who've been grinding the game since launch are left, and I'm out here still playing the game like it's season 3 :/

    Eh, thing with Strive is that rn it is THE anime fighting game so you'll get plenty of people who aren't as good and maybe even casuals especially if the game's on a discount but with FighterZ there are far more people who have been grinding the game than mediocre players and especially casuals.

    I'm surprised at the lukewarm reaction to Borderlands 4, i was under the impression that ppl liked that franchise, but i guess after a lackluster 3rd installment, a just okay spinoff, and a terrible movie adaption maybe the hype for Borderlands just ain't there

    also everyone's "favorite" character Ava possibly coming back in just ugh...

    I genuinely do enjoy the Borderlands games (mostly BL2 and BL3), but mostly of their 3rd wall breaking humor while also not being too afraid of being cancelled for saying things that wind up true in reality.

    However, I feel the series somewhat kinda fell off in story when Handsome Jack left the picture. That character was 10/10.

    I'm just as trash at VF now as I was 3 years ago when VF5US came out, but so are many other ppl, and frankly the only time it's fun to be bad at a fighting game is when you have many other players to be bad with you lol

    It’s a very complex series, but also very rewarding. I want to get good at this next one. 5 wasn’t really my cup of tea. Peak VF was on PS2.

    VF is not everyone's fighting game due to how technical it can get, especially within 5 and recent titles. It was easily accessible during 3's run. 4 and 4EVO was the start when complexity kicks in.

    yeah VF on PS2 was amazing, 4EVO is actually one of my favorite fighting games of all time despite it's complexity, I own VF3 on Dreamcast but I can never get into it, which is so strange to say because back when I first got my Dreamcast I would have killed to own VF3, but I ended up getting DOA2 instead and the rest is history lol

    Some people just have waaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands I suppose. Thing is, these people on these social media sites are just a loud minority, most people find games like these with protagonists that you listed either cool or they just don't give a damn about it and just play games to kill time.

    it's a little Dragon Ball, a little Lupin, some Ranma, some Revolutionary Girl Utena, can't wait for it to actually release

    This was actually from the recent Latin Games Showcase, and ngl they came with some heat this year

    Dam, thought we were getting some Elden Ring DLC, instead it's just some new co-op randomizer mode thing,,,oh well, more excuses to hang out in the lands between is always appreciated

    I'm actually excited for the new Elden Ring game. Got a buddy who is basically a Sekiro god. It'll be interesting to play a Co-op souls game like this.
