  • is DOA6 Honoka the only character in DOA history that has a low launcher (and I don't mean a 2 part low starter launcher, I mean like a low attack that actually launches)? I feel like that can't be right but I can't recall anyone else having such a move :/
been watching alot of Ninja Gaiden 4 footage lately, and while there is alot of stuff they're bringing back that's cool (UT's, Obliterations, Essence), I can say with confidence that I don't like the UI, call me a purist if you must but offscreen enemy indicators and Spidey Sense style warnings for incoming attacks don't belong in Ninja Gaiden, fingers crossed we can turn that stuff off

By the way, Yasuda added that. A Team NINJA guy.

Very likely that even if it was done in-house you probably would of still seen it lol.

well regardless of whose fault it is, hopefully it's optional for players who want a less cluttered UI, or it's just one of those training wheel features that goes away once you play the game on higher difficulties, kinda like Arkham Asylum; that game had indicators for everything, but they turn it all off once you play on hard mode
    DOA7 wish list

A proper lockout mechanic, a new way to interact with the environment, a sumo rep, and an actual old lady character (not that Nyotengu BS)
anyone else find it ironic that the situation with Switch 2 game cartridges and third party developers is almost beat for beat the same situation that happened with N64 cartridges and third party developers? I'd argue its worse now thanks to atrocious DRM but how did they make the same mistake twice now lol

at least a physical N64 game you bought 20 years ago will work if you used it today, try a physical Nintendo Switch 2 game 10 years from now and any number of DRM fuckery could render the thing the useless, which begs the question why even bother with physical cartridges? just make the whole dam thing digital if even the physical games need some form of online connection to run :/

Nintendo went bananas. I’m not sure what got into them honestly. Ever since that new president, but I guess he’s not new anymore is he.

Doug Bowser, the current President of Nintendo, used to be an EA executive

that pretty much explains everything and then some
    so...the Xbox ROG Ally X

Where the hell does Microsoft get these names :/

I love Xbox but I have to admit that fact, lmao. Xbox Series... smh.

Realistically, when it comes to Xbox names where could they have gone with after 360? Xbox 420? Xbox 720? Xbox Infinity? I give Microsoft shit for their naming conventions but the 360 was a genius way to catch up with the PS3, but sadly that genius move set them up for failure, cuz they've just been fumbling names since

Let’s not talk about the Wonder Swan.
dawg the arenas in NG4 are massive, no more intense fights in claustrophobic areas where we can take advantage of walls, now we just fighting in large, flat, open areas? as long as the characters can take advantage of the space I guess it's fine
    inochinagi
    inochinagi
the launch trailer from months ago shows a lot more variety of areas including more small room or corridor areas and not just big areas:

And I know they're going for more of a cyberpunk look this time but a few areas feel like they're out of Ghostrunner, or is it just me? lol.

We see two snippets of gameplay and people are jumping to conclusions.
I saw a blonde British man in the new NG4 trailer and my NG3 PTSD kicked in, but then I remembered that Cliff and Regent both die at the end of NG3 so there's no way they could come back...question mark?
welp, I hope the people who spent the last *checks watch* 16 years asking for Ingrid are happy now, personally i've never seen her appeal, she just always came off as a Capcom version of Athena, but hey, more characters are always appreciated
    Derock
    Derock
I don't see her appeal either but she left a bad taste in my mouth with her non-canon storyline in Alpha 3 Max. Plus, I don't see her as the "Capcom version of Athena Asamiya", maybe the other Athena (the one from SvC Chaos) cause they a bit similar in status.
UMK3 rerelease on modern hardware? imma play this shit till my fingers fall off, I don't even need a MK2 at this point
also, Marvel Fighting game made by Arcsys? feelings are...mixed but optimistic

it's funny because with Capcom Fighting collection 2, Tomb Raider collection 2, it seems like re-releasing old game compilations in 2's is the hot trend right now, so fingers crossed we get a Kollection 2 for the 3D era games and Shaolin Monks, especially since we're most likely never getting a Shaolin Monks 2
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
There might be a chance that the PS2 trilogy is also included in this kollection, since apparently they have the Gameboy Advance version of Deadly Alliance in it "with more on the way". If it goes up until MK9, all of them with playable online with good rollback, then NRS made probably what'll be the best decision that they had in the past 6-7 years.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
As for a Shaolin Monks 2 or a new proper Mythologies game, I think that NRS won't be making a new MK game for a while (which depending on how long the wait will be it could be a good thing), hence why we're getting this kollection.
Welp, it took two years but now every SF6 characters has a whopping 3 costumes! I will never understand SF6's aversion to alternates, it's just leaving free money on the table imo

though I guess it's better than the SFV costume situation where favoritism lead to some characters *coughChunLicough* with 20 high quality alternates while others only got 3-4 that weren't even that good; at least in SF6 everyone gets nice alternates and their doled out at a semi equal rate so there are no haves and have-nots

Mai looks amazing. Terry's I would like better if he didn't have the vest. Also Bison stole Leon's jacket lol.
DMC3 is one of those games when people say "it's the best of it's genre" what they mean is "it's the best of it's genre...once you've added the appropriate mods that offer modern conveniences and options the fans have deemed necessary because the base game is good but dated as fuck" a la Skyrim
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
should be optional, not almost mandatory (imo of course).
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Also, when it comes to modding, once people played a game 50 times back and forth you do want to make it fresh via modding if possible. Kingdom Hearts fans mostly say that 2 Final Mix is the best game of the franchise (it is), yet, the modding scene is immense, to the point where they made different characters from different games that were not present in 2 playable in 2.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
While the gamepay of that game is not dated in any way possible, in fact, it is also considered the best in the franchise.

This what Bruce had been busy with:

His last game was Tekken Mobile (which got shutdown).

    UpSideDownGRUNT
I mean if you think about it Fahk was a Tekken 8 charcter backported to 7 just like Lidia and Kunimitsu II very much are. So personally I always knew they'd bring him back at some point, the weird decision to me is bringing back Armor King with no Marduk lol

I apologize that a Mister.....Irving has an appointment to see a Cee Lo Green!

    So...

--unram is there to take his steed instead.
So MK1 will continue to receive balance patches despite DLC being discontinued for the game, which is good cause there's alot of underwhelming kameos that see 0 use and some questionable kharacter interactions that make 0 sense so hopefully those get changed
Food for the Soul and Catch me at the Ballpark, 2 anime that belong to the painfully malnourished genre of slice of life starring adults who are either undergrads or full time workers, check 'em out if it sounds like your thing
remember MGSV: Ground Zeroes? that demo that Konami had the balls to charge $40 but everyone went along with it because "well, it's Kojima, he's always doing wacky stuff", how did we let that shit slide at all??? I feel like if any publisher tried something like that today they'd be burned at the stake

I also remember Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Paid demos are icky, but people were really itching for GT5 in 2008 and MGS5 in 2014. Though, could you imagine if Cyberpunk 2077 had a paid demo in 2019?

Back in 2010 there was also Dead Rising 2: Case Zero which released on Xbox 360's XBLA for $4.99 a few days before Dead Rising 2 and doubled as a mini-prequel. I enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty meaty for a $4.99 1-day game and I actually replayed it a few times.

holy cow I actually remember Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, I remember being confused because I thought it was the full game but then I saw the $5 price tag

but yeah I can see game franchises of a certain caliber being able to get away with this nonstandard practice, but I feel like this is exactly the type of rabbit hole thinking that leads us to $90 first party Nintendo games
welp, with MK1 no longer being supported, every1's speculating about the next NRS game, which is either going to be Injustice 3 or that rumored MCU fighting game, but given how WB is more interested in turning all their games into live service store fronts, I don't even want to think about what their future fighting games will look like under the current WB model :/
dam, I thought MK1 was done and dusted, but then NRS puts this out

that said, this is pretty much just MK1 with new skins and all the DLC bundled together at a more reasonable price, not bad but this does mean no more balance patches or system changes, so the version of MK1 we have now is pretty much it

Guess the leaks of no KP3 were real after all.
Shame since Khaos Expansion must not have met expectations.
Then again, NR has done a complete edition for MK and IN.
Haven't played this game btw, I only heard it wasn't as good as the others. Seems 11 had more support.

11 definitely got more support, that said 11 catered way harder to the casual market so naturally it had a longer lifespan, MK1 imo has superior gameplay but it fumbled on basic stuff like online modes and training options, and the assist mechanic did not go well with the casual playerbase, and unfortunately casuals carry MK
