Bayman was born in the U.S.S.R. and was orphaned at a young age because his parents were killed in a bombing raid. When he became older he joined the Soviet Military and quickly rose in rank. Unfortunately the Soviet Union collasped and Bayman left to become a mercenary due to the lack of assignments. Later on Bayman was apporached by Victor Donovan whom he was very interested in working with. He was to enter the 1st DOA tournament and assassinate Fame Douglas, the founder of DOATEC.
Bayman successfully completed his mission and in return Donovan hired another assassin to kill Bayman. Angry at donovan's betrayal, Bayman fled to safety and planned to take revenge. The 2nd DOA tournament was announced and Bayman was going to pass until he saw Leon in the brackets. Bayman then decides to enter despite the possibility of being identified and caught. Bayman was previously hired to kill Leon in a past assignment and was nearly killed by him and decided to challenege him.
After the 2nd tournament Bayman decides its time to take his revenge on Donovan. He enters the 3rd tournament to train himself for his upcoming mission. During the tournament he meets Christie, one of Donovan's assassins, and reveals his plans for her boss. Farther in the tournament, Bayman encounters Hayabusa, who he flushes out from behind a tree by throwing a knife at it. Bayman tells Hayabusa that his knife will be used to kill Donovan. It is unsure how far Bayman made it in the tournament but after it concludes, he returns to his hideout and gears up for his missions.
The 4th DOA tournament was announced and Bayman was there in full force. He started his plan to finally get his revenge on Donovan. During the tournament he encounters Helena, who offers him a job to kill Donovan, not knowing it was Bayman that killed her father. Byaman refuses the contract and proceeds to fight Helena. Later on he runs into Chirstie again and the two begin their rematch. Bayman manages to make it thru but get caught and held for questioning.
Soon after the DOATEC Tri Towers begin to crumble under the ensueing attack by the Mugen Tenshin Ninja clan. Bayman manages to free himself from his confinement only to be locked in his cell as the towers are set ablaze. It is unknown if Bayman managed to escape the towers.

One of Bayman's first contacts in the DOA tournament is Leon, whom he was on contract to kill. Leon nearly killed Bayman in their first meeting and they meet again during the 2nd DOA tournament. Bayman's main involvement in the DOA tournament stems from Victor Donovan. For the first tournament Bayman was hired by Donovan to kill Fame Douglas, but after that mission was completed he was betrayed. The 2nd and 3rd tournaments were means of training for Bayman to prepare for his mission of taking revenge on Donovan.
One of Bayman's main rivals is Christie who is one of Donovan's personal Assassins. In the 3rd and 4th tournament she attempts to prevent Bayman from getting anywhere close to Donovan. Bayman refers to himself as a professional while calling Christie one of Donovan's lapdogs which gets under Christie's skin.
