    History (top)

    *WARNING! CONTAINS SPOILERS*

Kasumi Alpha Phase 4, is a clone of Kasumi, carried out by Donovan's offshoot organization M.I.S.T. Considered as the final prototype model, she "features" a modified Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu fighting style as well as a human soul and mind, still executing all kinds of combat orders without any resistance.

Phase 4 is the one that attacked Bayman and his soldier squad at the battlefield in the Middle East, leaving him alive with two vicious scars. Since she was surrounded by a black aura and draped in a black cloak with a hood, (which is her trademark outfit beside several kunoichi jumpsuits with fishnet shirts), Bayman was left with ignorance about her.

    Personality (top)

Unlike other Kasumi clones, Phase 4 has the feelings of a human being and her own mind. However, due to several arrangements and programming measures made by M.I.S.T., she does not have a free will. Since she knows that she can't defy any command from Donovan, but still does not want to hurt her opponents like Kasumi, she suffers on an inner conflict.

Therefore, she does not smile that often and remains to short, soft spoken statements, reflecting her sad personality.

    Trivia (top)

    • She is also known as "The Tragic Weapon" due to her existence and inner conflict
    • Her name is a reference to being the final stage of a Kasumi clone

    Gameplay (top)

Although a first look at Phase 4's movelist might evoke the impression that her gameplay is similar to Kasumi's, it can only be partially applied on a closer look. While her fighting style is a combination of the moves of Alpha 152, Ayane, Kasumi, and Ryu Hayabusa, she's more heavily dependent on teleports. While multiple moves can lead into a teleport, they only allow you to do so if the first strike hits and require a very strict timing and exact command input.

Unlike Kasumi, she does not have "on block strings" and many tools to open her opponent up easily, but if she is able to do so, almost any launcher leads into long teleport combos which deal a lot of damage. Compared to other strikers in the game, her neutral game is much slower and very unsafe, meaning that she can't be considered as an offensive character and needs to rely on good fundamentals, reads and patience instead, considering that she also does not have any defensive parries and only a few spacing tools.

As a result, she might not be suited for beginners, but if a player is able to overcome her disadvantages she can be a very dangerous opponent.
